Is being spoiled relative?

My dad has money and I grew up having more than other kids, but does that make me spoiled. In 3rd world countries were all spoiled. If I don't ask for much and I don't get upset if I'm told no, am I spoiled for growing up in a surrounding with bigger houses and stuff. Or is being spoiled relative to how wealthy you are

I can see how you would make that connection, but I don't think so. We're all obviously a lot more FORTUNATE here than people in 3rd world countries, but that doesn't make us spoiled. Being spoiled means that they've been given so much that their expectations have become over-inflated, their personalities have turned rotten, and they turn into big babies when they don't get their way. We're not all like that. If you can make sacrifices for other people, you can handle hearing no like an adult, and you don't expect everything to go your way all the time, you're not spoiled.

You're spoiled if everytime they tell you no you make a huge disaster until they give you what you want. And yes, being wealthy can make it even worse. I grew up having more than other kids as well and yes I've been spoiled, people thay don't have money can't be spoiled because their parents can't exactly give them everything they want, on the other hand our parents can and they love us, we're sort of their weak spot so maybe they sometimes give us more than they should, but I think with time, you just grow out of it

I don't think wealth is that great of a determining factor in whether or not a person is spoiled. I know plenty of wealthy people who I wouldn't think of as spoiled. The wealthy are often singled out unfairly on this issue. I think being spoiled is about being able to deal with things not going your way not about how much money you have. The wealthy are often very practiced at shifting gears and dealing with situations which don't go exactly as planned.

Someone here who might consider themselves poor might be a rich person compared to others around the world.

Sometimes poor in the U.S. means no cell phone, no car and having to share a room. Poor in other countries might be much worse...

You're deemed spoiled if you are a brat, and deemed privileged if you don't act like an egg head.

Spoiled is when you ~expect~ sh*t that you didn't do a goddamn thing to deserve, and get upset when it doesn't happen. Got nothing to do with how much money you have.
