Hey man, at least you'll have a job. I'm an art student and I know there won't be anything for me once I graduate. Provided I'm able to find a job at all, I'll probably end up in a really crappy one. Who knows, though. Maybe if I slap a teaching degree onto that I can be an art teacher, but even then I'll be getting paid jack sh*t because no one really gives a f*ck about teachers (which is so so stupid). But I digress. Be grateful you have work, dear. A lot of people don't.

honey you have a job.. be happy. most people are struggling to even find one. 3/4 college graduates won't find a job upon graduating. be proud because it pays the bills
At least you're making money! Seriously, try not to feel bad. You have a job and are trying to support yourself and that's great =)
There's nothing to be embarassed about. Everyone understand the economy right now and LOTS of people are working far beneath their training and skillset because they have to survive. Be proud that you have a job and are good at it, and know that your internship will soon have you out of retail and on your career path. I'm sure lots of people don't even have an internship, and are jealous of what you have, so be thankful and proud that you are EARNING your way up.
There is nothing to be embarrassed about. Most of my friends who recently graduate either don't have a job or are working at an hourly job. I graduated over a year ago and I still don't have a "real" job. You said it, the market is terrible right now. There are a lot of people with degrees working jobs like yours.

Seriously don't be ashamed. This economy we live is difficult. I've been working in since age 16 and people continue to not count my experience as a job. If they can't accept your job and realize that this economy is difficult? they aren't your friend.
A lot of us young people are working two jobs for extra money. Be proud that you have goals and that you are trying to work in that direction. Some people just were in the right place at the right time when it comes to job opportunities. To increase your luck, expand your social network with people that are at senior level of the field that you are looking it.
