Girl Friend won't take Plan-B

I have been with my girlfriend for 8 years. During this time we have used condoms as our method of contraception, with the exception of 2 years when she was on the pill (Americans call this birth control tablets.) She stopped taking the pill because she had concern with putting a chemical into her body(her words), no medical reasons, in fact the doctor advised against it, just her objection to the ideology of taking a tablet every day.

So for the last 3 years we have been back using condoms. The complication is that condoms are not reliable, they split, they break, they come off etc. So, the deal we made is that we would go back to using condoms, WITH the understanding that she would also need to take the emergency contraception pill (Americans call this plan-B) if something went wrong. Everything was fine until this weekend when the condom split. I noticed before I came, but she has decided not to take the emergency contraception pill, because it makes her feel ill. Her decision came after her putting off talking about the subject for a whole day and after I said she should take it. I can't force her to do anything, but I am pissed off that she is breaking our deal.

I don't really have any questions, just a general invitation for comments if you think this situation is fare/unfair? Am I being too strict wanting her to take the emergency contraception pill?any advice?

Why are you so nervous that she could get pregnant? You have been together for 8 years It's natural to take the next step and she's probably more then ready. If she really didn't want to get pregnant she would take the pill. Common sense... Even though you to had an agreement it does suck that its her choice but you should have thought about that before you came buddy you new the situation and you still did it Why? I feel there's a lot more going on right now then this. If you don't see a future with her then end it and let her move on to meet someone that does... I'm not trying to sound rough it's the truth..

What kind of condoms are you using? I have never had a condom split or come off. If she doesn't want to take the pill than that is her choice (it's her body). However there are other contraceptives that aren't full of "chemicals" which in truth are not chemicals. She should research it some more. You could always elect to use some spermicide.

It does alter the female hormones and does make the girl sometimes not able to lose weight. That is a big deal for me.

But if you've been together 8 years, I don't see why it would be a big deal anymore.

It would if you were together for 2 days or something.

i think you need to tell her that she's breaking the deal and that it's not fair to you.
