My boss can't spell my name correctly?

It is annoying because I work with him for a month and I have there for 8 months. It was in the email and he spelled it incorrectly. I am not sure how take it...he doesn't care ?

Don't write him a letter over this. Speaking as a store manager, I can sort of see through his eyes (I don't misspell my employee's names, but still).

Make a joke out of it if you need, but don't tell him that it upsets you. If your name is Chrystal for example, and he keeps spelling it Crystal, that's reasonable human error and it effects nothing. I can see a conversation like this going down as you are leaving for the day:

"Oh by the way... I know that you think I rock, but my name isn't spelled like the rock." When he responds via look, or question; "It's Chrystal, not Crystal. Just a quick FYI. Have a good day!"

Or actually I could see you leaving him a sticky note with the above text. That would be fine.

Lol, you just had to use that name as an example. That's mine with a different spelling. I decided to use a different name because it's 3 letters long and easier to spell... All my names are still spelt wrong...

In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter? Is your name spelled correctly on your paychecks making them cashable? That I would worry about. I once had a boss that called me Richard most of the time (my name's Russell) I got over it. Lots of people misspell my name, and you know what? I don't really give a damn.. My paychecks all cleared (THAT was important) so I figured he must have fallen down and hit his head at some time in his life. Anyway, just get over it. At least he knows your name.

I think that would annoy me too. An employer should know all of their employees, and I think it's unprofessional for him not to after 8 months. If there are many other workers that he/she is in charge of then that would be understandable, but an effort should still be made. You should let him/her know if it bothers you.
