Why does my boss always call me "Miss. First Name?

I have been at my job for 5 months, and I noticed that my boss always call me by "Ms. First Name". I'm the only woman that he refers to with "Ms." If he is causally talking to me, he would sometimes call me just by my first name "Helen". If he is making a command or reprimanding me he will use "Ms. Last name".

It makes me feel uncomfortable because I am the only one that he refers to using "Ms". I know I haven't been there for too long but I can't think of any reason why he's calling me by that.

Probably just his thing (like no reason). I had a boss call me "chief" all the time. Far as I know I was the only one he did that with. Just like some women say "hun" to everyone, it just is and you can't read too much into it. If it really bothers you, I'd maybe try and tell him so, but how to do that I don't really have a suggestion lol. I'd just try to put up with it and not let it get to you if you can. There won't be any "reason" for it and will be his habit now probably, so trying to break that probably won't happen. Maybe say "Can you please not call me Ms? I really don't like it." Some women don't and a lot of guys know this so it might be the thing to say without making it too awkward?

Maybe he likes to sound parental or "boss-like" with you? What's the age gap?

he is in his late 30s and i am in my mid 20s

I will say that he is being respectful, and maybe he is old-fashioned too. If you aren't married is probably why he calls you "Miss".🌹 I hope that this helps you.🌹
