Why do some people said being a housewife is the hardest job in the world?

Anonymous
My mom refused to work since she was married, and she stopped doing all the housework when I was in middle school, she just watches TV all day, if I dare to ask her to do some housework she'll yell at me, so I do all the housework since middle school, it's annoying but it's not that hard, so I don't understand why there are so many housewives refuse to get a job, they can get a job and also be able to do housework too!

And if someone ask them why don't they work they'll say being a housewife is the hardest job in the world, what kind of lie is that?!

Unless they have little kid under age 3 or a lot of kids, the "being a housewife is the hardest job in the world" is such a ridiculous bad lie.

Cause we have technology these days, we have vacuum cleaners, microwaves, oven, etc, it doesn't take that long to get all the housework done.

For example:

I vacuum the house once a week - 20 minutes

I cook maybe 2 meals a day - 50 minutes

Wash dishes, I don't have a dishwasher - 15 minutes

Do laundry once a week, you drop all the clothes into the washing machine and you can go away do your things, come back and pull them out and hang up all the clothes - 20 minutes

Clean the kitchen once every two weeks - 30 minutes

Clean the bathroom once every two weeks - 30 minutes

Buy grocery once a week, this one is tricky, my parents refused to get a car cause we live in a city, I can't use my part-time job money to buy a car neither(saving money for college), so I have to buy grocery and take the subway and bus to go home - 4 hours

As you can see, it doesn't take all day to do all the housework, what are all these housewives doing every day? Watching TV all day long like my mom? So what's with the "being a housewife is the hardest job in the world"?

Thanks.
