My boyfriend wants to go to the Nascar race in Bristol on March 16th?

He wants to go with his guy friends and he's saying he's spending 200 dollars by himself.. not mentioning his guy friends... We live in Kentucky.. why would it cost that much if he's staying Friday night and Saterday night only? Is there a lot of partying around this event? Are there a lot of slutty girls and is it wild?

I really don't want him going around a lot of slutty dressed women, drinking and partying...so I want honesty...

Three choices:

1) Let him go and have fun. Of course he will drink and check out hot babes in their underwear - that is the point of going to car races. Besides the cars, of course. Do not ask anything when he comes back and just greet him happily, tell how much you missed him and assume he was 100% faithful. He will love you for being cool, accepting and not nagging.

2) Tell him he can't go and he will either go anyways (result=major crisis) or he will stay home and hate you for not letting him have fun (not fun either).

3) Find a new boyfriend who is into staying home with you and enjoys garden work, working around the house, BBQ in the backyard, hanging out with his/your family, gaming XBox, or in other word: a generally mellower guy who doesn't lust for the excitement of NASCAR live-events.

Or... let him go, but make it clear that you know it will be a very stimulating atmosphere; it does make you feel uncomfortable, but because you care deeply about him you genuinely want him to have a good time doing things he enjoys. Remind him that you trust him. (Emphasize this!) And just tell him to stay safe and not get into trouble, and don't forget to bring back stories for you.

Simply assuming he was 100% faithful without drawing visible boundaries for him is just stupid.

He usually is the 3rd choice he just picks 2-3 nights a month to do that crazy stuff. He's a lot better than he used to be, but I'm just scared since he was a former alcoholic/manhoe that he'll return to his old ways. He's a totally different person when he drinks he's just never been and wants to go..but when he drinks he always seems to get in trouble with the law or damn near close.. and if he goes he's went out drinking 5 nights in a month. More than he ever has in any of our almost 7 months

Being somewhat of a NASCAR fan myself, the tickets are rather expensive. Slutty and wild? Far from. Not to mention because it's a stadium food prices are much more than normal. And a hotel night isn't going to be the cheapest thing ever. Nothing to worry about, you can even watch it live on TV as well if it really bothers you. Cars going around a circle 100-400 laps depending on track length (Bristol is my fave track because of all the action, mostly the huge wrecks etc etc) doesn't really relate to anything more than a really fun weekend out at the track.

These boys are in the 21 age group give and take so they can get ahold of alcohol. I definitely will watch it on TV, even though the only way I'd ever be interested in Nascar would be if I was actually watching it in person, but that's me with anything. Football, basketball, etc lol. Cause the movies make it seem like short shorts and beer pong at these events..and that's the LAST thing I want him to go to..

Well, there's always the victory lane celebration and that's the closest thing to being called 'wild'. Alcohol or not, it's very unlikely he'll stray from you because of this event. If it might bother you a lot more than you'd like you can always talk to him about it, if he honestly cares he will explain pretty much everything I have but probably in much greater detail.

Is Bristol the track that is realitivly short around or each lap?

Yes, it's a half mile track and with tight corners 1-2 and 3-4 its known for the wrecks.

Tickets are expensive as well as stadium food. (Last time I went to a college ball game a decade ago a drink was like $5). Also I live in a college town. Fleabag hotels that charge $30 a night charge over $100 on college football game weekends. Plus all his beer. I wouldn't worry. It's just a bunch of rednecks drinking beer and watching cars go around a track. Honestly I think that's kinda cheap. I would have no problem with my man going. In fact I would pack him goodies to take with him.

Its a NASCAR race, the guy/girl ratio is nothing to worry about.give him the guys weekend. He will be drinking, but that's what boys do. Wish him well and give him something to come home to. Guys like freedom, just know they come home.
