Why is she angry at me if she has a boyfriend?

I hung out with this girl once and we had a really good time--never had that good a time with a girl before. However, she had a boyfriend. I thought maybe she was still looking since her boyfriend lives out of state and is quite a bit older than her (and I'm her age). We made plans to meet again.

However, a few hours before we were supposed to meet, she canceled on me because her boyfriend surprised her by flying in and visiting. She was extremely apologetic. I didn't reply. The next weekend she apologized again and tried to hang out with me, but I don't want to be anyone's second option, so I made an excuse.

A few weeks after that, she wanted to get dinner with me, but I declined that, also.

Now she's mad at me. She hasn't replied to my last text. I don't want to meet up with her anymore because of the boyfriend situation, but now it's gotten to the point where she's ignoring my texts, too. It's basically just as well because we shouldn't be meeting up, but why would she be mad at me? I mean, she has her boyfriend anyway.

She's mad because, when she said "jump", you didn't ask "how high". I'm not trying to be funny, just truthful. We, as women, love being made to feel special. We love the attention that a man gives us, especially when he is making us feel like we are the only woman in the world. She wanted you to accept that she had a boyfriend, but still be available to her whenever she wanted. Hope this insight into a woman's brain has helped you...Sometimes, we can be very shallow, greedy and selfish...

that's what I understood about this situation. She has a boyfriend, but I'm supposed to be available to hang out with her on Friday nights. Doesn't make sense to me if we're not dating.

Why are you still trying to talk to her at all?
Just let her be mad. You were both doing wrong, trying to date each other while she's taken. I'm glad you stopped it. Now move on to someone who CAN be with you and isn't just using you when her boyfriend isn't around.

well, I haven't tried to talk to her at all. I texted her once, not to meet up, but to show her something we had talked about (via picture).

Maybe she likes you as a friend. If you knew she had a boyfriend, you shouldn't have expected anything from her.

I didn't know she had one until we met up. Not my fault. She shouldn't have asked me for drinks and dressed up for it.

Sounds you're treating her more like a potential "GF" than a friend. Also, sounds like she was trying to treat you more like a "BF" place holder. You know, all things a Boyfriend should be doing with her with out the actual sex and commitment. She's mad 'cause people don't like being ignored/blown off. Next time just text saying "We shouldn't hang out and here's why". Honestly man, I don't know hard to really know with out seeing how you two interact.

i think you should just giver a chance and you never know relationships don't last long, so just stick being friends with her. she probably doesn't have any friends to hangout with at all. so you shouldn't decline that, don't end up like me being alone not have anyone to hangout with, so just continue being friends with her.
