I sometimes hear East Asian societies are based around conformity while western societies are based around individualism. But what is so great about individualism? The US is perhaps the premier example and yet we see loads of people on the streets living in filth and then another portion shooting neighborhoods or robbing stores. And then a third portion are just deadbeat rednecks with a dwindling quality of gene pool or tattooed weirdos expressing their “woke” new-age nonsense.

is this what individualism gets us? Meanwhile confirming societies like China, Korea, Japan have low crime rates and rapidly developing urban environments. Not to be too extreme about either side but it seems a conforming society often times just does it better.

In May 2018 in the US, backup cameras were required by law in new motor vehicles, with a few exceptions. This was done in response to several deaths of children behind the vehicle that the driver did not see when the car backed up and struck them. Other countries (ex: UK) are considering making backup cams a requirement.

Many people in the US and other countries have put forward-facing dashcams in their vehicle, which helps in the event they witness a vehicle accident, or are involved in one themselves.

Do you think that forward-facing cameras should be required for vehicles, with the ability to record at least the last 60 minutes of video? It could be played back on the same screen the backup cam uses, or could be offloaded to another device via SDHC card, Bluetooth or cable. They would be useful tools in accident investigations, would help determine who is at fault, as well as detecting bad drivers.

In the dashcam view shown, it's obvious that the white SUV is making an unsafe left turn, cutting off the cammer's vehicle, and would be considered 100% at fault.

If forward-facing cameras were in every vehicle, it might even make overall driving safer. If drivers know they are being watched and recorded, maybe the majority of them will pay more attention to driving and to obeying motor vehicle laws.

I’m a big fan and listen to him almost everyday. I appreciate how he sticks to logic and facts in his debates. He will also own up to being wrong if he is factual proven to be. He doesn’t hide the ball.

The problem seems to be easy access, inexpensive, and illegally sold guns. So objectively, we should make guns as expensive as possible. Then only the best and most dedicated will own them. Not street thugs.

The Delta variant appeared after the first wave of vaccinations in the winter of 2020/2021.

Vaccinations surged in the spring and summer of 2021 (me and probably you if you got the shot), then the Omicron variant appeared in the fall and winter.

I got my booster at the end of last year (you may have too). Then, the current BA.4 and BA.5 variants emerged in the spring of this year.
