With things like this both sides end the war when both can claim victory, or claim they met their objective, or some other way to save face.
Russia basically lost the original war early on. They left the north. Maybe they can put some other spin on it, and pretend that was not really their objective and it was the southeast all along.
One way or another both sides will put a positive spin on it.
I think whether or not Russia can win militarily in the southeast depends on how serious they get. If they REALLY decide they want it and are willing to do what it takes to get it, I think they can take it. I think Ukraine will be the sacrificial lamb if it comes down to that or an all out war between Russia and the west. I don't think the west will not be willing to pay the price if Russia decides to go all out.
that would depend on what you think "winning the war" actually means
they've already lost a whole lot, and could lose some more
it seems like they want to seize big and key portions of Ukraine, which they could very well do and end up having but at a bigger cost
more than Russia, this is about Putin and his agenda, and for any dictator, this is not an ideal scenario... because is not making him look good at all and it is making him look bad to the people he is trying to control so, who knows...
war and conflict is not always a clear win and lose... many times is just both losing something and winning nothing much, they just end up with more issues than they initially had

Russia already lost. Even if they achieved every goal they set up they would still have lost because the world slapped them back such as Sweden and Finland joining NATO. However, that is not realistic either because Russia is unable to militarily win in Ukraine without expanding their military by probably 50 times if not more. Right now time is favoring Ukraine, meaning the longer this conflict goes on the stronger Ukraine will be compared to Russia.
The only real opportunity Russia had was at the start of the conflict which they completely failed to achieve a meaningful victory from.
What do you mean by "win"? They could continue to occupy a certain amount of territory, but they will never defeat Ukraine.
The issue is can Ukraine retake the territory Russia has gained. I can tell you this, no regular Russian dude is all up for going into Ukraine to lose his life for Putin. Nationalism is a joke.
Of course it will win. That's why the West is seeing big cost rises as the companies gouge money from the public, that Russia is going to take back from them in higher prices.
It's not a "war" In Ukraine. It's basically attrition for the West trying to steal Ukraine from under Russia.
probably not
i think a key factor for this is when putin dies it will end if it hasn't already
its probably only still going cause of his stubbornness and the next president of russia will hopefully just be able to pull out and pay some reparations or something
but who knows
Ukraine has the whole of NATO on their side fighting with them, and they still can't win. Of course Russia will win, it's just a matter of time.
@snsl153. NATO is woke as fuck. You should see their "diversity" videos, it's enough to make me puke.
@KrakenAttackin I have seen them, and yes, they do make me puke.
No, i truly don't think they Will. But it was definitely not possible without the fucking himars. But lets be honest, the true winners are the big companies that provide this shit.
Dont know, you know media would cover something now and that are policies but russia just did not use absolute weapon.
I hope not! But I have seen on the internet that North Korea has offered Putin 100,000 soldiers to go fight for Russia in Ukraine!
That will end up like Vietnam, Korea or even Afghanistan. Never ending!
@KrakenAttackin Population reduction for Rocket Man! But seriously. I hope that you are correct!
It’s not going to conquer the whole country, but will end up annexing part of Ukraines pre-2022 territory.
Russia will probably annex some Ukraine regions to the greater Russia but it all come down just to a cease fire once Putin is finally killed.
I think Putin will be killed. There's going to be no winner and loser in this war.
You might want to explain what faction you see able to do so in a system that is basically "Putinism".
Depends how you define winning. It's already cost them more than they can afford
It will but they will fight a guerilla war with Ukraine for decades. Like the Irish and Brits.
zero chance Russia wins. They're already losing very badly, and they grinded to a standstill. I can't understand why anyone would think they stand any chance.
They already won since they freed the people who were being bombed by Ukraine
I sincerely fucking hope not.
They already did
