I would say it's mostly for performance, since no one would be wearing a poncho, even if they looked good in it, if it was slowing them down.
What a person wants varies by the individual, so I think it would be accurate to say that some enjoy attention and others do not, or don't care.
At a professional level especially, but even at an amateur level as well, it's my experience and impression that most athletes are like myself; aware that they look good in tighter, more revealing clothing, but that is not the main motivation when choosing proper attire for competition. "Looking good" isn't always for other people. I just started doing ocean swimming and needed to buy a new wetsuit. When I was shopping, I had three choices: the lowest priced/spec'd green one, the highest priced/spec'd silver one, and an "upper end but not the best" red one. I went with the red one based on several factors which included the price and the color, which was for my own personal preference. Who knows whether other people would find me sexier in the silver or green one, and I don't care. I think the best look is confidence.
I'm sure there are women out there who feel miserable and self conscious in some of the skimpy athletic wear, and others who try to find the most revealing thing they can. It's my belief the more serious athletes are not as concerned with that aspect, their focus is on their performance.
They whore themselves for sponsorship money. Guys do it by putting multiple logos from different companies all over their uniforms, helmets, cars, etc. and diversify sponsorship risk. Women do it by getting as close to butt naked as possible and then changing an advertiser more money putting all their eggs in one basket.
that bike pic looks cool
I am disgusted by the videos what's wrong with incels like this.
You don't just choose your costume there's already a certain criteria.
Like bro what have you ever seen a guy in professional basketball start playing a game in a hoodie and sweats?
Yes the clothes are shitty as fuck because women are always objectified no matter fucking what even if they're fucking playing a professional sport. Just look at the sports wear guide in literally whatever sport u want.
No it's not because of comfort? Would YOU be comfortable in that?
Incels aren't real. What is wrong with strong powerful independent women being proud of their bodies?
Yes they are what hahah.
... look at the titles of the video bruh what does this have to do with the women.
videos
@RonnyBR what hahaga who am I jealous of? Also why would I care about what a MAN thinks lmao. Can't think of anything more embarrassing than being a man
Hse is right. Players don't get to choose their attire when they compete. There are already certain restrictions that theu must obey.
@ThisIsMyOpinion what that's what I said. (She/they)
@prince360 Yeah I'm so offended I'm literally dying rn call an ambulance
I'm pretty sure pressure from the organizers from these events is part of it. Just think of serena williams and her "cat suit" that she wore. They forbid her to wear it. It's much more modest than the usual tennis outfit. And it helped her with a medical condition she suffered from. But she still isn't allowed to wear it.
I think the organizers know sex sells. And women's sports is much less popular than men's sport. So they pressure women to dress a certain way.
There is nothing modest about displaying the crack of your butthole. Modesty would have been wearing a pair of shorts like the men. Imagine the stir id djokvic was wearing a pair of leggings with his dick and balls flapping about the place.
https://images.app.goo.gl/tFirK4gu6Royq2be9
The key word here is MORE. It's still More modest than the tiny skirts they usually wear. She wore a tight suit because it helped her medical condition. So loose shorts probably won't help her. But either way, the shorts probably would've been forbidden too.
I dont believe so as we can see her butyrate and clunge. Anyway she has to adhere to the rules like everyone else. Just look at the abuse she hurled at that umpire at Wimbledon, disgraceful
"she has to adhere to the rules like everyone else" And that's exactly what's wrong with womens sports. Why should she follow a certain dress code if she has a medical conditions that requires her to wear tight clothes? And why can't women choose to wear modest clothes? Why are there even rules that require skimpy clothing? I mean I know it's because sex sells. But women should still have the option to wear modest clothes if they want to. They can still implement a dress code by saying the clothes need to be a certain color or something similar but they should't say a woman has to wear a tiny skirt to participate.
Because its a dress code required to compete. If the men have to follow a dress code and the other women do why should Serena get special treatment. Also she has no right to abuse a tournament employee in the performance of his job, she needs to learn basic manners and adhere to the basic code of conduct just like everyone else.
But why is there even a dress code that requires women to wear skimpy clothes? That's just plain sexist. Men don't have to wear tiny skirts when they play tennis. But still, if they don't want to wear shorts but regular pants cause they want to dress modestly, they should be allowed to do so. Just because a rule exists, doesn't mean the rule SHOULD exists. Modest women Should be allowed to participate in Sport events too. Sorry but I really hate this logic. "THEY SHOULD FOLLOW THE RULES!" But why? the rules are actually outdated and make no sense. "CAUSE THE RULES SAID SO!"
That's no real argument to me. I believe anything should be up for discussion. And the status quo should always be allowed to be criticized. Not just in this area. basically everywhere. That's the only way we grow as a society.
Most workplaces or professions have a dress code, codes of conduct and standards. Serena was free to wear her catsuit with a skirt or shorts or long dress, no competition says you have to wear a skimpy skirt thats a choice and one that Serena chooses herself, if anything it would be sexist not to hold Serena to the same rules as the men. Serena just believes the rules don't apply to her and she wear whatever she wants and verbally abuse whoever she wants.
The whole idea of serena adhering to the dress code is that its the tennis that matters not her asscrack.
Yes many work places have a dress code. But there are still limits to this rule. For example, an employer is not allowed to force women to wear high heels.
female athletes are not sex workers. They shouldn't be forced to dress skimpy. And don't know why you keep bringing up Serenas attitude. She still should have the right to dress modest even if you don't like her personally. Or if she misbehaves. Instead of forbidding her to wear the cat suit, they could've said she needs to wear a skirt over it. Besides, the alternative is her underwear being on display since the shorts are to short to fully cover it when the women move. So don't act like they forbid the suit cause it was immodest.
"For example, an employer is not allowed to force women to wear high heels." I think you will find that most companies do the opposite and force women not to wear high heels in the workplace for health and safety reasons. They will also have a dress code usually that involves your ass crack, Clunge, dick & balls not being on display. The encourage Serena to dress moderately but she choose to display her sphincter and her mutton flaps, all she had to do is just put on a pair of shorts or a dress or a skirt just like everyone else. Women can wear any shorts they want, any length right down to the knee provided they don't display buttcrack or clunge.
Serena has a bad attitude, remember how she verbally abused that umpire and didn't even appologise all because she was losing. Completely sexist of her and if she'd been a man she'd have been thrown out of the building by security.
If a dress code makes sense, I'm all for it. It makes sense that women don't wear heels at work. It makes sense to expect your employees to dress modest. But they she was not allowed to wear the cat suit even UNDER a regular skirt. So this is not about her not being modest. This is about restricting women to wear modest clothing in tennis. And it even makes sense to expect your employees dress skimpy under certain circumstances. A stripper can't complain about her clothes not being modest. But female athletes are not sex workers. They should have to option to wear modest clothing.
It makes sense for a tennis competition to hold high standards after all its tennis not a whore house and Serena needs to realise that. Serena had the option of wearing modest clothing but choose to put her ass crack and clunge on display in a sport that's family friendly.
What was her modest choice? And why couldn't she wear the suit underneath those "modest clothes" even though she needs the suit for medical purposes?
Shorts are modest so is a dress or skirt. Medical reasons? What possible medical reasons are there for a catsuit and if she needed it she could have worn shorts over it.
She has a problem with blood cloths and a tight suit helps with the blood circulation. It's not like she is going to die without it but there is also no reason to forbid her wearing it even under regular tennis clothes. And If she were allowed to wear shorts above the suit, there wouldn't be a problem. But she couldn't wear the suit either way.
She was allowed to wear shorts over the suit but refused because of her poor attitude

Looking at a woman and thinking that they are attractive isn't "objectifying" them.
Using the word 'objectify' suggests that you turn them into an object by doing that.
No man dreams of a beautify blow up fuck doll and then looks at an attractive woman thinking "If I just concentrate hard enough, maybe I can pretend like she is an object and one of those dolls instead of a woman."
Some men reduce woman to their physical form, but it's a minority and it won't make them happy.
There are also men who do the exact opposite. They are looking for love and they have sex with prostitutes. They pay for impersonal sex with someone, thinking it might give them the love that they crave, then they go home frustrated, because sex with a stranger without emotional connection sucks balls. No one is talking about this "anti-objectification" where a woman's body and sexual intimacy is put on a pedastal as if it was everything there was to desire about a woman. Or is this what you are really talking about, when you talk about Objectification?
Maybe we can agree that some men just have a hard time figuring it out what's important in life and how to achieve happiness. I just don't like people constantly talking about this as some kind of male-exclusive plague upon humanity.
Women tend to measure a man's worth by single simple metrics just as much.
There is plenty of videos on YouTube of men getting rejected by a woman, then getting into their hyper expensive cars and suddenly being hit on by the exact same woman.
Let's just agree that many people are shallow and need some time to figure it out.
I think denouncing these women for dressing this way is a bad attempt at virtue signaling. You guys talk about them as if they were victims who are forced by the sponsors to dress this way. No they are not victims. They are sovereign. They do what they want, they do what they enjoy most and they are being paid to do it. Most people commenting about this being degrading are people who nobody wants to see in short outfits or barely-more-than-naked, who work in a job, they don't enjoy at all, I'll bet ya.
Women's clothes have long been designed by men to emphasize their feminine qualities. There's been such a long tradition of showing off breasts, asses and legs of women that it continues.
If the way these sports clothes were cut made women better performers, men's sports clothes would be cut in the same manner because we all have arms, legs, chests and butts. But men's sports gear are not cut like that EXCEPT when they do IRON MAN and long distance running.
However, I've never seen men's shorts cut to show their ass cheeks like women's clothes because MEN don't want to objectify themselves the way it's been accepted to objectify women.
Women, however, have joined the bandwagon and they design sports clothes similarly to the way men have, which isn't great. Young women, in particular, know the power of their bodies to attract men, and they show off to lure men. This doesn't always work in their favor, or yield the results they'd like, i. e. they WANT to lure, but they DON'T want to be objectified. Well, can't have it both ways.
But this is all the result of sexism. It's unfortunate.
Oh, My, God. By men, no less. Just blame it away (even if there is no blame in it). Coco Chanel - a guy. All the gay designers - well, yes, men, true.
Anyway, since men are the only ones to do pretty much everything save for emoting - you can always blame men for just about everything under the sun. Does it make you feel good?
@prince360 I didn't blame all men or all male designers. The designers these PARTICULAR WOMEN CHOSE, are designing sports fashions for women that fit that bill.
THAT IS ALL I SAID.
The young women WEARING THOSE CLOTHES CHOSE THEM.
However, if you grow up seeing revealing sports clothes on women, it is LIKELY YOU WILL CHOOSE SAID CLOTHES FOR YOURSELF.
Coco Chanel designed classic clothes for women that were NOT revealing. But, if you look at music videos featuring someone like Beyonce, you will, again, see nearly naked clothing for women. They are "entertainment" clothes, but nearly naked, nonetheless. Lizzo and more dress in the same fashion.
And, of course, very young women, who are full of sex hormones and horny, just like young men, dress to lure. And on the other hand some have VERY BAD TASTE in clothing, period.
So combine horny people with very bad taste and you end up with some of the designers who want their clothes flying off the shelves and money in their pockets and the people buying those styles.
Today there are many women designing the same styles of clothing. Men still dominate the top of the fashion tiers, but I'm not on the first rows at New York, Dallas or Milan and Paris. Nor are there a host of casual sports clothing on the runways.
But it is usually trickle down. Some years are more revealing than others.
Looks, comfort, and higher performance.
Think of the sports bra, it just so happens to go on the part of the body men find attractive (I’m one of those men). Ever since its introduction to women, it helped women perform better whether it is jogging, running, or jumping because it keeps the breasts from bouncing like crazy and causing pain to the wearer.
Kinda like a jockstrap & cup, guys don’t wear them to get women’s attention at their big bulge, it just so happens to support the male genitalia for things like running, jogging, and other feats of athleticism with a cup that protects during contact sports like boxing, wrestling, American Football, hockey, and more.
I didn’t know this until a few years ago, but in hockey men wear a version of garter belts which would be seen as being objectified if it were in the reverse however men wear then for sport just as women do.
Do what brings out the best performance out of you, makes you feel comfortable, and look damn good doing it.
No matter what a girl wears, it's her choice. Even if she is wearing just a bikini, no man should use it to objectify her. Stop sexualizing women for clothing. If you think that sexualizing a female because she is wearing something revealing is ok, you're disgusting.
Yea as a good guy he should not get distracted by girls, no matter how sexy they look. :)
tvtropes.org/.../NotDistractedByTheSexy
Yuh yuh, like when my balls are hanging out and I start claiming its for comfort, not a single person will start talking about it, and no one will be interested what so ever yk its all fine he's just trying to perform ill try and avoid gazing at his fucking massive balls dangling out his pants yk. Also stop tryna act like this is only a problem for women, its hardly as if women dont spend as much if not more time obsessing over idols entirely based on their looks, if that isn't sexualising I don't know what is.
Actually, women in sports don't really get to choose their outfits. Men made the dress code when they started letting women participate in sports after women kept begging for permission to participate. They figured, fine let's give her what she wants but let's also make this ultimately about us. Women can do ALL of those same sports covered up the way that the men, wearing special performance gear, are but at the end of the day, men are the ones judging their performances and creating the guidelines for their sports. They choose to objectify women and women are so used to things just being that way that they go with it. Better to have it in a way you don't like than to not have it at all. It's sad bro. The women that do cover-up more and try to be more conservative get excess points off cause "their attire makes it hard to see the clean execution of the moves." They get less endorsements which means less funding to go to tournaments and prove what they can do. It's an unfair tax to get the women to conform and sexualize themselves. But then again there are just women who genuinely do like showing off their bodies and more power to those people. My point being, it's not always her choice.
@DontEvenUnderstand 🤣 right on I gotchu 🙌😝
@depressionxglitter So I am an evil and disgusting person because I am attracted to women? Is that supposed to turn off when I see women doing sports? If only I was a good person, all that revealed flesh, curves, and beauty would just disappear in my mind, and somehow all I would see is a human being doing sports and nothing else?
Sometimes I question how guys think this shit fr, we don't stare at guys and think damn im so horny id let him fuck rn in front of everyone. Maybe woman that are literally craving sex like a mad woman or are a sex addict but we don't sexualize men. Fr like why don't I just mention your tight little leggings for football. Bet you find that offensive. Or how bout your wrestling uniform lol. Dont even get me started. Females if anything don't like that shit. At least the majority
@Savvyymarie ALL men see the beauty in women at all times and it never stops. So I guess we are just evil and bad and horrible. If any man tells you he isn't like that, he's lying 100%
If a woman is physically attractive, that's it. We look at her, and we see beauty and sexyness and cuteness and all that stuff. It never goes away. NEVER. And it won't ever change either.
@Savvyymarie men tend to be much more visual, men and women are different, shocking, I know.
I see more and more clearly every day. What we have here is in my opinion the root of it all.
Men and women on some deep level resent eachother. Women resent men for not being like women. And men resent women for not being like men.
Sorry, that’s biology. Everything is for the sake of reproduction and the health of our kids.
Women are attracted to resources. Resources have a broad scope. Material, social, and physical resources such as energy, strength. This is to ensure the children have a dad who is best fit for our little caveman babies to survive. Women are attracted to providers and protectors. The content of the man’s character does not matter. Be he a kind man or a brutal tyrant, as long as her progeny will survive under his shield, her legs spread wide.
Men go for the fitness of the woman’s body. And beauty is nothing more than an indicator of said fitness. The more beautiful the woman, the more likely she is to have healthy children who will survive. And if a woman is beautiful, we don’t give a shit about the content of her character. We tryna bust hella nuts in that bitch.
And women have anger towards men, because we are attracted to beauty. It makes them angry, because women really believe that what makes them attracted to men is somehow biologically superior to what makes men attracted to women.
And men are angry at women for the same opposite reason. What attracts them is different from us and it makes us angry.
And I suppose the next level is culture. We have this culture that says you’re supposed to find one person to settle down with. But in reality we are all animals.
A man’s prerogative is to fuck as many females as possible.
A woman’s prerogative is to find a man to protect her, and to sneak off behind his back to fuck a man with the best genetics she can find, and trick the one she settles for into raising the genetically super man’s kids.
And so we hate eachother because we know on some deeper level than neither of us have a “moral” sexual strategy. Men want to fuck every female we can. And women want to use men as cuckolds.
But nobody wants to admit the truth of course. Everyone is in denial in my opinion. But I think that’s the truth.
And there’s plenty of science to back it up. I know for sure women will deny to the death the cuckolding aspect of their nature.
If you women are mad at us men for wanting to fuck very pretty girl we see, and you believe that is the truth, than you as the female version of this animal called human being, must necessarily be the animal equivalent of such sexual nature.
Because all animals have a sexual strategy depending on the animal. And humans are serial maters.
Even today, in strict cultures where monogamy is culturally enforced, you see serial monogamy where men and women constantly swap to new partner after new partner.
That’s how we all are, and neither men nor women are the ones with the “moral” sexual strategy. If you think you are, you’re fucking deluding yourself.
@DontEvenUnderstand I'm not. Yes, men get sexualized too, but it's more common for women to be. In conclusion, neither should be sexualized without their consent.
Lol our sexuality is rooted in our biology, and that’s where it comes from. It doesn’t change just because it’s 2020.
Cat calling is a separate subject. You’re talking about respect. Which is a separate subject to men being attracted to women.
What you did was hate on and disparage men for being attracted to women. You did not talk about cat calling or disrespect or rape for example. Those things are bad.
What is not bad, is men’s nature of being attracted to women. You change the story when I tear down your bullshit hatred towards men.
If you want to be mad about cat calling and sexual harassment that’s fine. But that’s not the same thing as men being alway as attracted to women. It doesn’t turn off ever, whether you like it or not.
Sexual harassment is a choice by an individual, not a symptom of “men are evil.”
@Kaazsz people could resist cheating, but no much reason for a man to go for a ugly woman.

@depressionxglitter im not surprised one bit you said you're lesbian
@MrBigNuts476 I am not surprised by her being a lesbian too, that's why she hate men so much.
@Savvyymarie Wrong. Women do check out men, maybe YOU don't.
But in ancient times men often competed in the Olympics nude. That was their version of best high-tech outfit.
The Greeks notoriously had a strong gay scene
Interesting.. most of these have zero boobs and almost no ass. You’d assume they’d at least have rounder butts considering all the movements.. hmm 🤔
Anyhow, I’m sure none of them would do any better with a giant garment on, as that would get in the way of all the movements and slow them down. Are you stupid or just perverted? Probably both. Why are men so sick.
? ...
Check dat ass
This women look good, wtf is wrong with you? Yes you will be surprised, but dick size is more important for women than breast sizes are for men, but women like you can't understand that
Female athletes tend to have zero boobs because boobs get in the way of masculine activities.
tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PetitePride
One in how many? .. it’s not even that cute :/
jealous much? @anonymous
A combination of both. You can't play well wearing an Afghan burka. On the other hand, companies force such uniforms to attract more male spectators to the game.
Company's force? How do they force? Women are free to wear anything men wear, they choose not to. A woman in a burka for starters wouldn't be allowed to compete by her husband or father. There are muslim female athletes
In team sports, there's something called a UNIFORM. You don't necessarily get to choose your uniform, just like a policeman might hate the colour blue, but he has no choice but to wear it, because your uniform is chosen by the company you work for.
Of course, many women voluntarily wear such garments. As I've already said, they don't just look good, but have actual benefits in sport.
Guarantee there's s modest option provided when requested
Who cares its a little bit of tits and ass nobody turning on swimming look at ass therees millions videos online for that. All people objects
Beach volleyball can be quite revealing.
@AmandaYVR Not sure if competition beach volleyball but looks like the kind of stuff they wear.
in my opinion, both. But the catch is that female athletes don't always get to decide what clothing they have to wear, it's often the organizers who design them and they clearly have more in mind than just functionality.
Keyword: always. Also tbh letting athletes wear hijab is a relatively new concept.
Not just the hijab
Often it depends on the sport. In basketball and soccer, it is the uniform. Obviously, in swimming, it is performance. Even the men often shave their body hair for better performance so obviously anything loose fitting would slow them down and in gymnastics the girls wouldn't wear anything loose fitting that might get caught on some of the equipment.
Originally, in tennis and ice skating, to look feminine rather than masculine, they would wear short skirts rather than pants or shorts that the men wear. However, they wouldn't wear long skirts because that would hinder performance.
In track and field events it is probably performance. For example in high jumping or pole vaulting where the difference between winning and losing can be a fraction of inch, they wouldn't want to chance lose clothing knocking off the cross bar. And, in running events, loose clothing could increase air resistance.
Women do that because they crave attention. It's also why they'll wear skimpy clothes and then act horrified and play the victim when men lust after them.
It's definitely not about comfort. Baggy clothes are infinitely more comfortable than skin tight clothes. It's not about performance either, especially with modern materials. You think having your cleavage, ass cheeks, and pussy flapping in the wind adds to your performance?
It's done purely to attract attention from men. Women of course won't admit to it because somewhere in their estrogen-soaked brains they know that acting as slutty as possible to attract men is wrong, but it doesn't stop their behavior.
Yo shut the fuck up they don’t get to choose what fucking uniform they wear it’s not all about y’all males😐👋
Pretty sure they can decide the size or type of stuff they wear.
They can decide as other teams have more conservative outfits so it is not like they are not allowed to decide. I think a lot like showing off in some sports like volleyball. We didn't have our buns showing in any girl's sport in high school.
@White_King2000 they can’t do goodbye🥰
So goodbye*
@Daniela1982 what’s your point?
. Just that they want to look good when playing. Sports is becoming like that. Check out the cheerleaders like Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders. Show legs and buns.
Females wear the ass hugging sport athletic shorts because it helps them to perform at a higher better level.
I take it that you have never tried running or working out in baggy clothes or normal street clothes , it drastically slows you down and impedes performance.
Although women are seen wearing a sports bra and very tight shorts that look like their panties they actually have a reason why they wear it but it's not to have guys look at them.
That's bullshit. Men wear basketball shorts and get their dicks all swinging around in there and still do exceptionally well at sports. I'm not saying that women have to or should wear looser clothing but the notion that longer pants or a shirt would impede their performance is b. s.
That exaggeration being said, men do wear performance underwear that hold their penis well and stops them from jiggling too much. But that underwear is enough for them to exercise in alone. Men just don't like to look at each other's dicks that much but it's okay to see the outlines of a woman's vagina. That's a messed up double standard.
You guys would rather put on a baggy, saggy excess piece of clothing than walk out in your underwear but you praise, encourage and tell women who have nothing loosely flapping around in their panties that it'll be more efficient for them to exercise in less clothes than you yourselves are comfortable with wearing. I'm not blaming you personally but men have been deciding what women wear for years and we have to just go with it cause a little of something is better than not having it at all. Women are also to blame for not fighting more against it but the whole thing is just messed up
telling you know, its actually easier to move around with less clothes on you. Look at male athletes dude, this question is sexist.
You are saying its only wrong for women to wear sexualized things, but you know what? I see more women push that shit onto each other.
part of it is the fact that they need to be flexible, the other part is the judges are known to be horny old men so looking good in more ways than your performance is sometimes needed, It also can be the fact that when the sport started girls wore that so it's now required as a uniform.
I mean definitely a combination of all that stuff.
"You know what would really make you better, baggy cotton cothes that restrain movement" - No One (ever A. D)
It definitely helps with performance but most of those girls have gotta know they look incredible in those outfits right? Lol
Objectified woman = sexy woman, and don't forget the objectification of male swimmers. :)
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ChainmailBikini
I am not an athlete so I couldn't answer your question. I would assume they do it for comfort, though. Either that, or they're asked to dress like that to get more viewers.
The viewers part sure maybe, that's why I watch
i would say for litterally all professional sports, function goes above form and looks. spors wear is highly specialized at supporting the athlete in whatever particular sport they are doing. that incidentally often involves tight fitting clothes, as wide clothes can be a huge performance drag or even a hazard.
For diving and gymnastics, I can see it for ease of function.
For golf and tennis, I really think that some of that skin is rather gratuitous, and more for show.
For volleyball, well, that one is anybody's guess.
Damn
@AFellowWeeb At the very least!!!
I think, it's just a habit or tradition (like in: it was always like this).
Most guys (men sports included) don't really think about it and just put their stuff on.
With a few exceptions like swimming or cycling perhaps.
...
And then there's beach volleyball...
Neither. They wear it because they’re told to, and because if they don’t they won’t get paid. Which is asinine. But that’s the world we live in, unfortunately.
I hardly doubt that women competing in these competitions are trying intentionally to draw your attention to there body , they got sports illustrated for that. Matter of fact The picture with the girl in white over the word objectified was very upset that social media started taking her pictures to be sexual, so to gain some type of control over the situation she began modeling.
Women don’t want to be objectified , bu
t we are anyway because weee just seen as toys for boys or maids or someone to cook or clean.
Sounds sexist. Women are often the ones that objectify men. Look at 50 shades and all the soaking wet theatre seats, or a the middle age houswives who used to throw their underwear at a 15 year old Justin Bieber. Look at how many women see men as repairmen, chauffeurs, atms etc.
Women complain that guys treat them in relationships like their mom yet they treat their men like their Dads
@white_king2000 so fucking true
Whats this objectifying bullshit all people are objects. My girl likes feel like my property. Men objects too. Do you guys need definition of object.
@Leah1273 a woman who is looking good, and could cook or clean, what more a man needs?
tvtropes.org/.../FeminineWomenCanCook
Get your mind out of the gutter. You know it's performance. They're athletes at the top of their game.
I also used to wear skimpy things and yes I like attention and also it tends to be more comfortable
You've clearly never worked out, bucko. Masturbating furiously doesn't class as "exercise".
Get out into the real world, kid.
You've clearly never competed in a sport.
Mobility. Tight and minimal clothing let’s you maximize your movements. Women and men also have different anatomies so there would be an obvious difference in clothing
I mean I don’t doubt there’s some women who want to look sexy while they’re performing but I doubt the mass majority of serious competitors would put looks over performance when it can make the difference between winning a medal or nothing at all.
It’s funny that we still live in an age where sexuality and sex is looked upon with shame. But only for men. For women, it’s all about liberation. For men it’s about oppression because we are evil and bad for being attracted to women. Y’all females fuckin disgust me to be honest. You’re nothing but hypocrites.
Anyways, I always thought the sports wear was for performance, which lucky for us, also looks sexy.
I think it's like probably a combination like in summer when I wear extremely short shorts I like it but I'm well aware my boyfriend likes it too
All women desire lots of sex - but want you to pay for their pleasure AND to feel they hold the moral high ground by doing so (a triple whammy as standard)
Then there are more men then women because some suckers die trying to do so - and women complain about the patriarchy.
No, hey, listen, they NEED, you know, at the highest level, what with their, you know, they got a wider pelvis and uh, you know, the Q-angle, and with certain muscle groups, depending on the overall movement, yeah, I mean, you know, it's, it's, it's, yeah, you know, it's gotta be. . . it's gotta be tight.
Tight, tight spandex. Or lycra.
Maybe they like the way they look and when you feel good about you look the extra confidence has to help with performance I would imagine. I haven't tried the skimpy sports gear ( at least in Public). Yet because sliding into third would sting a bit.
In dance and gymnastics I didn’t to choose the outfit, it was all for performance in gymnastics and whatever was eye catching in dance 😒
THEY like to dress sexy for attention from guys., they like to feel hot to us and want us to notice them./... but god forbid if u let it be known u find them hot... they will slap u and call u a pervert... maybe its best to look the other way and dont notice them;... dont give em what they want
its like they do it jus so they can put u down and call u a perv, fuck them
i will not notice them
Most of them it's because that's what you are supposed to wear. Super tight but easy to move in makes for faster better performance
Men tend to be the ones who choose the gear. They want to objectify. In swimming and gymnastics and dance though it improves performance.
Whats this objectifying bullshit all people are objects
men objectfy?
um, hello, no guys tell u girls to get in those bikinis, y'all do it urself out of free will... wheres ur proof guys invented bikinis?
im pretty sure the female gender invented them... u objectfify urself
@PersoncslledPierson Whats objectification all people are objects
It has to be a combination of all
A pure athlete will eat/do/wear anything which gives them and edge
If it can also make you look good, Why not?
Yeah its some sort of plot that forces women to wear a bathing suit while swimming/diving.
One that disappears up their buttcrack at the slightest movement?
What they wear helps them be their best. At those levels hundredth of seconds matter
Yet the men don't?
Yeah but it doesn't go up their but crack
I think they do it to increase their advertising value cause athletes make the bulk of their fortunes through product endorsements
I do think sex appeal sells, and now it's pretty much tradition for women to wear skirts in tennis, vollyball, etc. It was set up by men.
Money
Because if they look good, they know more men will be willing to watch them, therefore, more money on sports tickets and all that stuff
I think tennis pro and hottie Anna Kornakova from when she turned pro at 15 made more money modeling than when she was playing.
As someone who's played volleyball half her life, I never got much of a choice in terms of it being uniform, went from wearing basketball shorts in middle and high school to tight shorts
In college* it was uncomfortable but you got used to it but there really wasn't a choice
Definitely for performance. I am a track athlete & used to do gymnastics competitively & it was weird getting used to it at first, but when it comes to keeping cool, aerodynamics & movability less is better
All in many ways. But the best way to do these excersises is to do them naked , like they did in ancient Grease. So the tight clothes give them the same but not showing a naked body. Admittedly some of the styles or designs can be near erotic...
Nah, I feel it's just for comfort; some of the females athletes are lesbians, remember?
Maybe once upon a time. It used to be a running joke that female athletes were ugly masculine lesbians with unibrows, hairy legs and armpits but my god some of these girls are hella hot and really pretty.
They wear those clothes because of functionality and comfort, which is definitely a performance issue.
It's based on the individual and the statement that they what to make, for some it's all for comfort and proformance while others use it to gain attention for something else.
they dont really have the choice i think, like they just do it cos they're told to (it makes people watch them more, it's also been that type of outfit, exc?)
This is what I've always wondered about - and, like a female member here said at some point regarding wearing a skirt - it is only worn because it can be lifted up easily to get fucked.
So, yes - they want to maximise their sex appeal. There is no functional benefit to a naked butt in swimming, tennis, etc. If anything, for aero-dynamics avoiding crevices reduces wind resistance.
They hope for sex-appeal driven sponsorships, money and status (and a cooler boyfriend to boot)
Sharapova i think once said it depends on comfort zone while playing
100% they do it to try and bring more attention/money into their sports. You see how many wedgies they have to pick out of their ass in every competition? I call bullshit to anyone trying to tell me that's comfortable. lol.
I doubt they want to be objectified, so I would say it's because it helps their performance and it's comfortable.
If all men simply ignored them, the outfits, and everything else... you'd soon discover your answer...
The 3rd and 4th video is very good (though)..
applause to the athletes.
👏🏻👏🏻
There may never have been a question that has perfectly nailed the thinking of a right wing mind. Well done.
I'll agree some outfits are a bit much but it does infact help your performance to have less clothes and have them be tight fitting
To some degree high performance. But when men wear drastically more clothes it definitely to get sexual attention.
I don't really care, but they sure are amazing athletes !!
