Sore spot, I’ve been getting skunked the last month or so. Literally found a school of bass I could visibly see, and they just weren’t going for it. Water temp was fine, they should’ve been active, I don’t understand it. Just watched them ignore a minnow jerk bait and three different plastics: a worm, a crawfish, and a “bandito bug.” Unbelievable🤦♂️ And I’m probably going to try again today with the same result, lmao.
My favorite, in terms of success, are usually worms or bandito bugs on a 3/0 weedless hook. Unless I’m in SUPER clear water and targeting smallmouth like when I go to the New Hampshire Lakes Region, then I use 3” grubs on a 1/8 oz jig head. But most of where I fish locally is very mucky and weeded, plus generally inhabited by largemouth. My “favorite” in terms of fun is definitely a frog lure though. Most of my local spots are covered in lily pads, so it’s really the only way to do it without problems. I LOVE a good top-water strike, only problem is the fish will miss more often than not, so it’s not always easy to catch them.
Yeah, I gotta work on the popper technique too, haha. I want to start using a trailer hook on them too, some teenage kid told me about that once, said he catches more fish with that.

I have fished for snook and redfish for around 50 years in the Ten Thousand Islands and Marco Island area of SW Florida. I have had the best luck on Mirrolures, Rebels, Bomber lures and Rapalas. I have also used Creek Chubs, Lucky 13s, Goldeneyes, Reflecto spoons and Aceta spoons. None of the lures are as good as a live pinfish, grunt or finger mullet. My first big snook was caught on a TT24 mirrolure.
@inked2014 I need tips for the keys
I haven’t been fishing in years. I truly do miss it since it was my old man’s favorite thing to do. We used to use a lot of live baits. I don’t know much about lures but they look similar to once’s I’ve used before. I don’t really know their names.
So I love sport and have played most, but weirdly I've never been fishing and I say weirdly simply because I think I'd love it! It's the solitude of sitting by a riverbank whilst being one with nature that I think I need in my life Xx
Flat fall or knife jigs for giant bluefin tuna.
No problem. Where do you fish? I fish a lot in the Pacific off of So Cal and Mexico. I caught 3 bluefin one day in July between 120 lbs and 180 lbs on the pink version of this jig near Catalina island.
I need a guide I go to Florida to fish every year @backdoorman
I only caught a king fish last time think about it
I just got a set of lures. Never used anything but live bait before so I'm looking forward to getting away for a few days and fishing for trout
I just fish in saltwater and use big sea worms I dig myself at low tide.
250-350g cod pilker for sea fishing (cod, haddock, pollock, halibut)
earthworms for ground fishing. (salmon, trout, eel, flounder and lot of other fishes I don't want like catfish)
I’d rather just catch the cat fish with my bare hands to impress you
Honey it's been a long time didn't seen your tits 😘
My dry-flies. Various trout.
Yup, dry flies. I am a fly fisherman. Mostly….
Give it a try! It can be quite relaxing ;)
Guidance and a bit of patience on both parts goes a long way ;)

Just worms on a hook with a bobber...
The promise of Financial freedom
I tell the fish that they can start their own business selling products they are passionate about and retire at 40. They just have to pay the £2000 start up fee and buy the products off me first.
I like a storm wiggle work crankbait
Honestly, live bait.
Real worm
I don't fish.
