Some could say that it's not since the horse is the one doing the work, but it's far from the truth. Riding asks for a lot of focus and it's pretty physical.
TECHNICALLY, it's only considered a sport, by definition, when you are competing with someone else/others. I am a rider, personally, and I consider it a sport.
Yes, sure. I just find it unfair towards the horse to not get the merits for all the work it does. I haven't ever seen a horse on the podium. But the rider who somehow managed to not fall off gets the medal. Heh heh.
Its a sport, a rich persons sport. So as to attest to the difficulty of it is beyond 99.9% of the populations ability. I'm positive its difficult but don't really care to be honest.

It's certainly challenging. Jumping is dangerous. It's a physical activity, so it's a sport.
I've known several equestrian chicks. Every single one had a fantastic ass. So... yeah.
For the horse, sure it is. Not so much for the rider...
It's basically a form of motorsport, just with a very slow and temperamental vehicle.
How not for the rider

Yeah it's definitely sport you definitely have to have some skill and some practice to be good at it
i ride a mountain bike... its a pastime more than a sport unless ofcourse i was doing it competitively
When I saw them put down a giant beautiful horse at churchill downs, I thought of it more as a torture chamber for slave animals.

It qualifies, though horses jumping around with someone on their back makes me a little nervous.
If your doing it competively sure but if your just going for a ride then no.
Horse riding is definitely a sport. Hunting other animals on horseback is not a sport
I think, the horse is indeed doing sports; where its rider is some kind of passenger or coach.
The rider is also doing a lot of work

Yes, it is luv and I love horses a lot and think horse riding is a great sport.
I don’t think it’s a sport but more of an art competition like dancing
My friend Autumn from Florida does this. She's turned it into a business opening a stable.
My rule is this:
If you can drink a beer while participating in the activity it is not a sport.
Welcome back to the site hopefully I’ll see you in the next Olympics in three years
In Paris France
Ahahahah I wishhhh
You can do it let me know what’s going on in the future
Well for the horse it is. I think it technically is though.
Why not for the person?
They aren't the one running. It was a joke.
you’ll be surprised how much work the rider has got to do ahaha
I believe it. Like I said I was just messing around.
Yeah all good ahaha
