Does this year's Super bowl lack the excitement of year's past? ?

It just does not seem like a big deal this year. I don't know if it is the teams that are playing or Covid making it weird or what it is. I do not even plan on watching it.

I’m not jacked for it at all. I’m going to my hockey class instead, haha, I’ll catch it on DVR. I’d be happy for either team that won, and bummed for whatever team lost, there are guys I like on both teams, and obviously a win for Cincy would be huge for their fans. I’m a huge fan of the music lineup at halftime, some of my all-time favorites, but at the same time, rap is corny with stifled vulgarity, the whole point is that it’s hardcore lmao, so I’m keeping low expectations for what will have to be a PG-13 performance. I like my entertainment R-rated😝 I have the weirdest feeling Ice Cube might show up too, being another prominent LA rapper from the early 90s golden years of west coast hip hop.

But yeah…. no juice for this game. I assume you’re a Pats fan since we’re from roughly around the same neck of the woods…. are we just fatigued? Do we have like Super Bowl ED or something? Patriots and/or Brady or we ain’t gettin’ chubbed?😂 I know this is the kind of thing that makes other fans sick, but it was legitimately tiring having all the teams being contenders every year and having the “championship or bust” mentality. Champagne problems, I guess, and there was a lot more celebrating than mourning, but every bit of it ate me alive as a fan. The Aaron Boone homer in the ‘03 ALCS, the David Tyree helmet-catch, Kobe taking over the 4th quarter of Game 7 in the 2010-11 Finals, dropping Stanley Cups to the Blackhawks and especially the Blues…. all these events gutted me, ruined my baseline mood for months. But even some of the wins, especially the Super Bowls…. I didn’t enjoy a minute of those games until the final winning plays. We never got that feel-good blowout win. They were all close games and came down to the final possessions. The Seattle and Atlanta Super Bowls were easily the most dramatic, exhilarating wins I’ve ever witnessed, and I hated both games in the moment, until the winning plays. Especially the Atlanta game. The lead just felt too big. Thought it’d be a big tease and at best would just make the score look less embarrassing from a historical perspective. I just couldn’t believe they’d win until they did.

So I’m just personally pro sports fatigued, man. I always love our teams, but right now it’s not really rockin’. The Patriots are semi-back but it’ll never be the way it was. Tuukka just retired and the core is getting old for the Bruins, that window is closed until further notice. There’s hope for the Red Sox (if they even play, I think there’s a strike or lockout looming), but I don’t really feel the juice there. And the Celtics are a mess, don’t get me started. So I feel kind of ready to just step away from giving a shit about it for a while. I care way more about my beer league hockey team lmfao. 20 years of living and dying by other men’s athletic successes and failures, I’m just tired, bruh. I’m sure if any of the teams go on a run I’ll be right back in lmao, but for now, I just want to chill.

So all that said, with that overall mentality, assisted by an early and embarrassing playoff exit by the Pats, I’m like three weeks removed from caring about the NFL. Just not a huge fan of the modern game either, it’s all been tailored for high scoring to keep the interest of casual fans, gamblers, and fantasy players. I’ll watch the Super Bowl, I’m sure, but not live. We’ll see if Mac-10 can lead us a little deeper into the postseason next year and I’ll reassess the mood😂

I'm feeling the same way about it 🤷🏼‍♀️. It's rather dull, when usually it's so exciting. And usually they give us small glimpses into the commercials. Wonder if they'll be just so so. Yep, the spark is definitely missing. I wanted the 9er's to win so bad. That would have made it exciting enough for me. The Ram's, well, they are from California, and you know how people think everyone in California is on the left. So, maybe the Trump supporters are holding back because of the Ram's. So, that would definitely cause less excitement.

for the true fans of football out there... this is a game you would not want to miss out on, and this season has been one of the best in a long time... it might not have the big names, however it does have "names in the making"

I still remember Rodgers first season, and Brady's and Mahomes, which was yesterday... this could be the start of another "big name" whether in coaching or as a QB

and then, the Half-Time, for those who care about that... I am 99% sure it will break the current record of viewers

if you care for the ads, well... brands, sponsors and companies already spent over 500 million dollars show off, so... yes, I am looking forward to it, just as much as I do it every year... lol

and to me it really doesn't matter if others are excited about it or not, I care about the game and I am just hoping it is a great game, on the field... and a close one... I actually bet on an OT super bowl, so wish me luck... lol

Our elites are making a hash of the whole “bread and circus” thing they need to be doing in an imperial-stage society like America. By pushing unsubtle woke propaganda into sports, entertainment, etc., they antagonize and reduce the entertainment value to large portions of the population. Then they are taking the bread away with highly inflationary policies that will get worse when the climate emergency becomes the next big crisis after the pandemic. Without bread and circuses, people tend to turn on rapacious, greedy elites.

I’m not a huge fan of football— unless I can go to a game. But overall, I enjoy the family and friends coming together to watch and eat together. I’m looking forward to that.
Also, Snoop and Eminem. I also read that the first deaf sign language interpreter will be signing the entire half time show. I’m kind of excited to see that.

Although I’m a Patriots and Bears fan,
my west coast team is the Rams…so I may be the odd one but I’m pretty psyched for 3 reasons:
1. Awesome new stadium, it’s super cool
2. I’m a Rams fan
3. Excited to see how Cincinnati does , they have had an amazing turn around…just 2 years ago they kinda sucked
