I don't think it was EVER big. Then again, I couldn't care less about any sports.
And WWE is DEAD AS F*CK. I stopped watching in 2012 (ten years ago!) cause even back then, it sucked, and they refused to air any shows on YouTube, insisting people still used cable TV to watch their garbage. They killed themselves by being late as hell to the internet and only didn't start embracing YouTube until 2017, and by then, it was too late and most of us didn't return back to it. By 2018, they tried to gain even bigger online notoriety by making original YT channels and having wrestlers have their own non-wrestling channels and stuff, like Up Up Down Down, but it was too late by then.
Hell, WWE has ALWAYS F*CKING BEEN too late to the party! They didn't even have HD Broadcasting until 2009 and didn't join the woke "all women are wonderful" BS until 2016.
I'd say few companies have ever been so out-of-touch with the times as the WWE, but every other corporation have caught up to them by embracing wokeness and attacking fans and customers. We really are living in Clown World.
It was more popular before but a lot of good throwbacks retired
