Are UFC fighters overrated?

I swear. I do not understand how some of these people got their black belts. They can't hold standing guard and get knocked right out by a head kick or routine jab-cross punch combination.

I have thousands of hours fighting and sparring against second and third degree black belt opponents, and I've literally NEVER been successfully kicked in the head, nor has anyone ever knocked me out with a mere two punch combo, like these two bozos on the UFC card last night.

How on EARTH did they get a black belt In an allegedly real style of martial arts and they can't even hold standing guard with the NEUTRAL REFEREE reminding them to keep their hands up? IF the Ref needed to remind a fighter to get their hands up, he should go ahead and stop the fight. Either they already got ROCKED one too many times, or they just sucked to begin with. Either way they're a 50% scrub wannabe.

IF you fought me in my prime, you BETTER know how to hold standing guard while leg -checking all 11 basic Isshinryu kicks, because if you drop your guard to parry a kick to the mid-section I'm going to knock you right out with a jab-cross-hook-uppercut "continuous fist" style offense... and you had better leg check vs all of my body kicks, because if my thrust kick landed (back then) that was the end of the fight too. My right cross in 4 oz gloves vs your face meant you lost the fight.

Most of these fighters aren't even the equivalent of a real Isshinryu light green belt.

Hell yes.
Not really

Besides all that, I used to beat absolutely anybody in a clinch when I was 20 years old. didn't' matter if it was karate rules or boxing rules or no rules. I get you in a clinch and I'm wearing you out with knees and then my thrust kick. Knee-thrust kick, yank you down into it for double the fun.

What's the deal with "black belts" throwing "air punches" because they don't know how to use straight kicks to control and gauge range properly?

The Reason Usman and Adesanya win via stand-up is because they both throw 30 kicks per round, even though they "win" via punches, it's the kicks to the body and legs that set up the punches to the head.
