+1 yno i do not entirely agree. hockey is not slow. football has 35 seconds at most of slow parts between plays then a burst of action.
baseball, while i love it is admittedly slow.
the one thing soccer tops all with in terms of pace is basically about 45minutes of uninterrupted action followed by a half and another 45minutes of action

The perception of sports being slow or fast can vary depending on individual preferences. Different sports have unique pacing and qualities that attract different types of fans. While soccer is often praised for its continuous play and non-stop action, it may not be the preferred sport for everyone.
Many people enjoy the strategies, tactics, and suspenseful moments that slower-paced sports like baseball, hockey, and football provide. The slower rhythm allows for close examination of plays, intricate details, and individual skills. These sports also build up tension, leading to exciting climactic moments.
Ultimately, the appeal of a sport's speed or slowness is subjective, and people's preferences vary widely. It's important to recognize and appreciate the diverse range of sports and their unique attributes, as they cater to different tastes and interests.

They are all boring to watch. Soccer is about the boringest. I'd rather watch chess.

+1 yBaseball... yes.
Hockey and football... no. Even though there is some down time between plays and if the coaches go crazy with time outs and there are reviews the game can stop at times but when the action is on, so much is happening, so much speed, violence, collisions, the big plays are so big and dramatic. I would not call it slow.
Baseball yes. Just pitch catch, throw back to pitcher, batter steps out, fixes glove, steps in, pitcher pitches. No swing, ball is thrown back to pitcher, batter steps out, fixes batting gloves, steps in then signals for time, steps out again, steps in, he's ready, pitcher throws pitch, no swing, catcher throws ball back, batter steps out, another pitch, no swing, another pitch, fouled off, another pitch... etc. That is slow and can be quite boring.

u +1 yI can’t watch American football for that reason. Half of the time they stand around, debating. And, even worse, that will always be used to throw another stupid commercial in my face. 🤬
Real football is just 2 x 45 minutes of game (unless they beat each other up, of course).00 ReplyNo. There are a few sports like baseball, NFL, golf, cricket, lawn bowles etc which are slow.
Then there are a lot of fast paced sports like association football, rugby, rugby league, basketball, ice hockey, field hockey, tennis, lacrosse and volleyball which are all fast.
00 ReplyI think soccer is boring. When you can end in a 0-0 tie, there's something wrong with the sport.
I love baseball and like football as well. Baseball is extremely strategic but you need to understand the strategy.
Basketball and hockey are fast-paced but I'm not really into either.

a 0-0 score just means both teams are very talented and evenly matched
I think hockey is faster than soccer is. Also, basketball is faster in the way they score points. So that's more fun. They don't run as fast because they have a much smaller court, so if soccer fields were smaller, they would be jogging also.

I dont mean the physical speed of the game. I mean the number of stops and starts (faceoffs in hockey)
+1 yBaseball's a tad slow but not as slow as cricket!
Whats the difference between soccer, hockey and football? They're all the same game but with slightly different rules.00 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yGoogle says the average soccer/football game, from beginning to end, lasts roughly 2 hours. I'd rather sit through 2 hours of rusty nails being slowly hammered into my eyes, my joints, and under my fingernails. lol
00 ReplyHockey is faster than soccer. Football is slower but designed around breaks in play baseball is... more of a game than a sport, to be honest..

+1 yThat's the sport where a final score could very well be 1-0 right? No they're all equally boring.
00 Reply1.6K opinions shared on Sports topic. I do not agree at all. How many points do they actually score in soccer compared to the NFL and NBA

How does number of points compare to the speed of the game?

Do you think someone can run faster than they can skate? Are you referring to the time it takes for a game to start and finish or the tempo of the game itself? Hockey is a very fast paced sport.
- +1 y
for baseball it would be length of the game at almost 3 hours vs 1.5 hours for a soccer game. In hockey it would be the number of face offs and football it would be the number of downs.

If I'm is understanding let me know. Do you mean slow as in length of time to complete a game? It seems like that's what you're saying.
That doesn't make hockey slow. It's a fast paced sport but can take longer to finish a game than another sport. I'd rather watch a hockey game over a soccer game for entertainment purposes alone. Time is time so it's not slow to watch a game it is just longer to finish the game. That doesn't make it slow. I think you're trying to say is soccer game done faster than the other sports. If it takes 1.5 hours to finish then yes. Is hockey slow paced no. Baseball is slower paced for sure.
To be honest. I would ban golf, and make it a war crime to play.
00 ReplySoccer is boring af. It may be fast, but that "fast" consists of a bunch of guys running up and down a field to little effect.

+1 yActually, hockey, like basketball, is considered one of the fastest sports when it is NOT interrupted by a referee's whistle.

Oops I didn't see this. Number Faceoffs in a game aren't always the same. Depends on the game. Soccer has many stoppages do to out of bounds etc. It's prob around the same. Maybe hockey has some more stoppages.
+1 yNo…clarify what you mean.
