While YouTube has seen better days (the new grounds migration) and has very timeless content, it's the opposite of an awful platform.

So in this segment, I will be performing damage control on the slightly misleading myTake I wrote called...

7 Examples of Why I Believe Children Should Stay Away From YouTube

In this installment of a new MyTake series I will call...

5 good things about YouTube I should explain.

The YouTube rewind sucked, but that doesn't mean YouTube sucks.

1.) YouTube a free platform.

Self explanatory.

__________________________________________

You do not need to pay for 99.99% of YouTube's content unless you want it to be advertisement free. YouTubers may beg you for money, likes, and subscriptions, but have the choice of the content you view.

It's free entertainment, and it supports some creators regardless of whether or not you give them money.

2.) YouTube can be very educational.

__________________________________________

If you haven't heard of crash course, they're one of the best examples of educational content even if they are cramped generalized videos they still have a lot of very useful and important information, and it's presented in a fun, highly produced manner.

3.) YouTube is a nice hobby.

Just a musician showing what she can do.

It's a platform that allows you to upload anything you want as long as it isn't extremely racist, targeting users, abusive, or pornographic.

I personally upload unfinished animations that I do in my free time.

And many small YouTubers do their own thing just for fun and don't care about the YouTube grind, like my friend Mike who does gaming videos.

Feel free to express yourself on YouTube however you want, but take my advice when I say you should show your face until you're old enough to know what sexual harassment means.

4.)The commentary community

Most of the commentary community have your back and will help you filter through the garbage of YouTube. They are YouTubers that help you stray away from fake news, abusive YouTubers, and corrupt YouTube employee's. Most of them are genuinely good people who want to share the truth with you instead of jumping onto trends for views.

I personally recommend ImAllex, WildSpartanz, or Elvis The Alien. Leon Lush is more comedic about his content so I also recommend him.

I personally recommend you don't watch Leafyishere or Kavos. They are just people that get very angry and make very mean remarks.

But pick your poison as far as I'm concerned.

5.) YouTubers make very creative content.

Although the most popular YouTubers are Vloggers, Let'sPlayers, Compilation

Channels, and reaction channels.. there are some very talented and creative individuals that run their own YouTube channel.

I stand by this 100%

YouTube can actually exemplify how extraordinary some people can be with their content, animators, artists, musicians, actors, comedians, engineers, teachers, chemist's, writers.

So many talented and appealing YouTubers aren't usually popular, but when they are you're in luck to find them for their amazing content.

A great example would be a series called Emara.

It's only 5 episodes but it was made by one person for all of Ramadan, and will be around again next year.

I am very biased when it comes to the hemisphere of YouTube. I'm a loser animator that tries to get through the day with two doses of Adderall so I can actually function, and most of my opinions on these matters are based off my moral code.

Like when I ranted about Onision. Is he actually a psychopath? Not because he hasn't been diagnosed. Do I have the right to call him one without proof. No. Can I call him an idiot. Yes because that's my opinion, but please don't take that as fact I don't have any evidence.

I enjoy spending a lot of time on Youtube as a viewer, but I take issue with its SJW stance on shit. If a video is the slightest bit controversial, their algorithm takes note of that and those videos are made to get less notoriety and can even betaken down or de-monetized. I don't agree with this principle of, "if we don't personally agree with it, we should do everything in our power to fuck with it". It's becoming a platform of censorship and it's sad.

YouTube has gone to the dogs since they started demonetizing content like crazy. I still spend a lot of time there, but the quantity and quality of content has dropped drastically.

It may not be in its prime, but that shouldn't discredit the creators on the platform.

One of the big reasons I and several others don't have see YouTube in a very positive light is the way they moderate content. There's nothing wrong with making content suitable for advertisers and children, but ultimately the parents are responsible for the media their children enjoy, not YouTube, and there is plenty of content on TV that is not suitable for children yet they still have adverts - that is why they are on late or they sat the start "this may contain scenes unsuitable for young children".

Now there's nothing wrong getting rid of child pornography videos or Isis videos, but Google and YouTube have gone to a ridiculous extreme and become full on SJW morale guardian white knights and are trying to create a platform where wrong ideas and silenced, and only the right kinds of people are allowed on the site. I got an email from YouTube a while back inviting me to look at these "YouTube heroes", pioneers of the internet, and it was a very obvious SJW thing. And let's not forget the awful YouTube heroes idea that I'm so glad never became a thing. Putting the power to mass flag entire channels is a terrible idea - especially on YouTube where you are guilty until proven innocent.

But, despite all that negativity, I still enjoy watching videos on YouTube, because thankfully they haven't silenced the YouTubers I enjoy watching. Yet. Plus it is a decent platform for people to create very creative and fun content to watch, unfortunately though, their algorithm changes every few months and the latest version makes it difficult for animators or people who make quality content that takes a long to produce to make content. Modern YouTube is about pumping out as many videos as quickly as possible, that's how you grow in the modern YouTube. Creators that want to take time to create quality stuff have a hard time surviving or getting noticed because YouTube's algorithm works against them.

If I brought up every educational channel on YouTube, it'd be kind of long take, also production value wise crash course puts a lot of work in, so you can't discredit that.

Oh, I don't have anything against CrashCourse, I just feel like since Vsauce is the most subscribed educational channel (and for a good reason), and has a very unique way of explaining things and putting together an interesting video, capable of talking about subjects you otherwise wouldn't give a shit about and still blow your mind, he should be considered a better example than CrashCourse, especially if you want to convince people about the value of YouTubers.
