What does it mean if somebody says "removed a heart from" followed by a quoted imessage. Is that another way of saying "I hate this message?"?

I do not understand Apple at all. Apparently there are emojis, that I don't see. I don't understand how any of this works. Anybody knows what "removed a heart from" means? I mean, does iMessage tell you if someone removes a reaction?

Removing a heart from a message is another way of saying "I hate this message." When a heart is removed from a message, it means that the sender has deleted the heart from the message.

This happened to me today after sending a really nice condolence to a person who I thought was my friend. I wish Apple wouldn’t have notified me- it really hurt my feelings and will keep me from reaching out to her ever in the future. I guess it’s just as well.
