I just upgraded from an iPhone 5C With a button to an iPhone XS, I was going to go with an XR But it was out of stock, for saying I’ve never used a phone with no button before... within a day I had already gotten used to it. It feels like a much bigger more luxury phone. It’s so easy to use and the notions are so easy to and quick compared to a clunky button,
If you’re going for a budget buy off CEX I got mine for 750£ 256GB mint condition ( so you get the box and all the original acsessories) for the newest iPhone.
If you don’t have CeX or a store like that where you live and you’re on a budget go for the 8, if not and you want to spoil yourself you really should go for the XR It’s a beautiful looking phone and the red just pops!

A physical home button. I bought my mum the iphone XR for her birthday and i still have trouble opening it up when she tells me to do something for her on it 😂
Not use to it
I love the home button I don't know about the XR probably all tabs stay open and no way of closing all tabs with out the home button I’ll probably buy 2-3phones with the home button before they’re abolished
Wow. I, wow, I was just, wow, this is too surreal. You and I were looking at the EXACT same phones. I went with the XR. Just makes more sense at this point

I like a physical home button. Makes it seem more accessible
I have an Android, but it's up to you if you feel comfortable having your phone use facial recognition. But iPhones have it good by knowing that the phone will be in use and will turn on the screen when the phone is lifted. So, a home button is not needed anymore either. Therefore if you get a the new iPhone XR instead of the 8, you'll have the better chip, will be able to get cases from the store more easily than the 8 and the software will be up to date, while the 8 will probably lose its function after a while. So, I would say the XR over the 8 due to those reasons. And if you have the environment for an apple then it's perfect for you. (Like have an apple computer and iPad) If you don't, I say you try looking at Android because they are better I would say. At a non biased look, it was a total upgrade. The feel and how the software works is great. It's responsive, durable, and more open to a better camera than iPhone. I dropped my phone so many times and it hasn't shattered yet. Even from a shower ledge that is above 6ft, dropped to an all tile floor that was also wet😂. I have a LG V30 by the way. Not the main flagship of LG, but love it for the camera and looks. And usability of the Google assistant is prime vs Siri. Especially the apps that come with Google are better on Android. Guessing you may use Google maps and stuff, it has more features than you may think due to Google favoring Android (of course😂). And the software will always be optimized for your phone. Not destroying your battery over time. So, I'd say get the XR due to the software being more up to date than the 8 and will continue to be and it being faster with the new chipset or try looking at Android phones
No home button because the second you drop it on a big rock the button gets stuck and doesn’t work Yes I did this already with previous one and my ipod touch not on purpose but No home button it’s really a matter of swiping from the bottom and your back to page 1 it’s not hard as I have a new iphone without a button.
At first i can understand why you feel that way. The home button is familiar to us
I felt the same until i got the iphone x
And trust. Its way better with the swipe! No joke lol. Trust me. Within a day you’ll understand. Its fast, smoother, more natural. I wish i could have the swipe on all my older iphones now!I used to think I could not have a phone without the button bc I was so used to having something to press. But after getting the iPhone XR, you get so used to having no button really quick! It’s so much easier just to swipe up to get to the home screen or a different app.
Right now I have a Galaxy S9 but my first smartphones were the HTC Mogul (Windows Mobile) and Motorola Droid (the first one). Every single physical key they've removed, I'm still upset about. I resent the loss of the physical keyboard, because now I have this stupid virtual keyboard that takes up 3/4 of my damn screen. Oh yeah that's sooooo convenient.
If I had an iPhone I would want as many physical buttons as I could get, just as I DO want that with my Android phone.I can't stand iPhone's or any Apple product well with the exception of a granny smith that is... iPhone's are over priced Androids with far more restrictions
gimme a droid anyday tbh
my current phone is the Samsung A70 since there was no LG options available when i was due an upgrade i went with the one which i felt suited my needs more and i must say next to LG this A70 is the best choice for what was on offerI still have an iPhone 7 and have been an Apple user for a while so I haven’t had much experience with no home button. I think I’d prefer the physical home button though.
Only upgrade when a phone has a evolutionary functional change, both of these phones have nothing new, a shape and specs refresh doesn't count, wait and buy foldable or wearable or AR phone next :)
No physical home button because there is no chance of you breaking the button. I remember on my iPhone 4 and iPhone 5, the button stopped working.
I have an iPhone 8 with the home button. I just upgraded from a 5s after 5 years. Battery was worn out, then I shattered the screen.
I prefer not to own one of those plastic trash bricks.
I changed from iPhone 6s Plus to iPhone X. Both have their pro’s and con’s, you’ll definitely love the simplicity of the Face ID!. It takes some time to get used to not having a home button, it’s worth it though.
I have an X.
I expected to miss Touch ID and the home button.
I don’t. At all. Face ID is more reliable than touch.
Go with XR.I used to have an iPhone 6 and it was okay, but once I switched to android with no home button it felt so much better. Tried using my mum's iPhone with a home button recently, and it felt so weird and unnatural
I dislike my I-phone. Have one for work but I like my private phone much more.
That's a Huawei, much more user friendly and excellent camera.I've gotten used to the no home on my iphone X but I liked the fingerprint security on the home button better than the facial recognition on the X
That’s weird I have the product red 8 and it was pretty easy to find. I got mine at Best Buy
Everytime I have to use a Ios device I struggle with its limited interface. I prefer android
I dont miss the home button at all anymore, you get used to the gesture control quite fast.
