Narcissism is very serious and obviously just wanting to create videos isn't close to it. Vlogging isn't a sign itself.
Signs and symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder and the severity of symptoms vary. People with the disorder can:
Have an exaggerated sense of self-importance
Have a sense of entitlement and require constant, excessive admiration
Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it
Exaggerate achievements and talents
Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate
Believe they are superior and can only associate with equally special people
Monopolize conversations and belittle or look down on people they perceive as inferior
Expect special favors and unquestioning compliance with their expectations
Take advantage of others to get what they want
Have an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others
Be envious of others and believe others envy them
Behave in an arrogant or haughty manner, coming across as conceited, boastful and pretentious
Insist on having the best of everything — for instance, the best car or office

Yes i do. I also dont like 100000s of pics of yourself and those fucking moronic reaction videoes. Why the fuck do I give a damn about some nobodies reaction. Peoples perceived importance is the problem. Everyone thinks everyone else is thinking of them all the time. We are talking about what they are doing and with who. What they are wearing and waiting with bated breath for their next post sticking their fucking nasty tongue out or a food pic. Fact is everyone is too concerned with themselves to give a damn about anyone else
Not always. I suppose it depends on the subject matter. Like an advice thing, or a review site, no. Makeup tutorials, not necessarily, though always having to obsess over looks could be a sign. A day in the life of some average person, every boring detail, maybe. Always being "on" would be an issue. Obsessing over likes, shares... maybe. It would get old, especially if it wasn't really doing much for that person. Always acting like a celebrity and being obnoxious about the attention or faking it... would get annoying. But just for having a vlog or blog, no.
Partially. If the intent was to keep your friends and family updated on what you've been up to, I get it. But it's presumptuous to do it because you have "followers" that just have to know what your thoughts and feelings are. That's pretty egotistical.

Every blogger I've ever watched for the few minutes that I could handle, were incredibly fucking stupid. I have no idea how people can watch others live their lives. At one point when I'd watch lifting videos, the people who I'd learn how to train from, would start posting videos. I'd watch some of them and never understood the concept. I would eventually not watch videos whered they talk too much about non lifting activities. They eventually ran out of lifting material, so I eventually stopped watching.
Pretty much. Vloging is just talking about your own life. There’s nothing wrong with making films that educate people with tutorials, document events or places people can’t see from far away through a journalistic view, and stuff like that but once you turn the lens on yourself it’s pretty narcissistic.
I believe vloggers are motivated by ego in some way. When that motivation starts to change their behavior in a noticeable way in a direction that is self-absorbed and at the expense of others, I believe that's when it crosses the line into narcissism.
um.. no. It's just vlogging, a lot of people do it especial on YouTube. That's like saying all the pictures you've ever taken that have you in them is you being narcissistic. A person is only being narcissistic if their always expecting attention, praise and to be part of the attention at all times. But vlogging no.. that's normal and something a lot of people like to do for fun and plus vlogging wouldn't be a think if people didn't like watching those type of videos.
It depends what the person is vlogging about. If it’s to help or guide others (such as travel vlogs, product reviews, or workouts that we can follow), then I don’t see it as narcissistic. But if it’s someone like Tana Rendón (a Peruvian blogger who vlogs about where she shops/buys and what she eats/where she goes) or Carli Bybel (a self-employed American makeup artist who spends her videos talking about herself while applying makeup), then yep, that’s narcissistic.
I know many You Tubers... so I would consider it hard fucking work.
The people themselves can be narcissistic without vlogging so I don't think the act of vlogging itself has anything to do with it.Not anymore.. Youtube's been throwing the hammer dawn lately. Stream. me is gone, Dlive is following that path and Bitchute, I predict will go to shit not long after rolling out their livestream service. If these sources aren't so full of themselves, I deem them unworthy of my pity.
I don't think so. It's initially about the intent but just people start vlogging becuz they want to inform or show people their lives and I don't see a major problem with that. It's about how it changes u that makes a difference.
not really. narcissism goes beyond filming yourself. yes you will see narcissists filming themselves or always trying to make an impression on social media, but that doesn’t mean that every social influencer is narcissistic.
Depends on the motivation. If it's to be rich and idolised, yes. If it's to have an outlet where you can connect a community of people? I don't think so.
Well yes and no.. It's just a simple log of events during the present day. But... if it starts becoming the centre of attention in an individuals life almost like a life of death situation, especially without monetary or mental health benefit then it's a problem.
No. True narcissism involves viewing others as an extension of themselves.
If a vlogget disregarded everyone else anf acted as if everyone should behave the way they would behave then that would be narcisstic. No why would it be? Everyone has a something they enjoy and makes them happy. While Yes I agree there is a lot of narcissistic vloggers to still say all of them is a bit of a stretch.
No. Self absorbed maybe but only depending on the nature of it. And for the record there's nothing wrong with a little self absorption. As long as your ego isn't eating itself you'll be fine. Have fun.
yes i would but that's just a character trait xD it's probably very usefull if you wanna make a living with blogging xD also i think you can be an overall well rounded character even if you're on the narcissistic side.
A lot of it is yeah. I prefer watching educational videos, interviews, etc, coz then I can at least learn something. I don't care what some youtube bimbo ate for breakfast LOL
I guess it depends on the topics you blog about. If the topic is generally you yourself then it's likely at least a little bit narcissistic.
No. It totally depends on how it’s done. Some vloggers never even show their face. It depends on their attitude and the subject matter.
Not if it's done as a career. Everybody needs money. But if a person only vlogs because they like attention then yes they need to be burned at the stake for narcissisim.
If you're telling me something useful, then no. However i live near a college campus and people walk out into traffic vlogging. Doubt they are telling me anything useful is i have to swerve to miss you.
