How often do you use video chat?

Question

I hate looking at myself on video lol. I only ever started video chatting because someone I dealt with was into it. But generally, I'm not a fan.

Never! I rather not scare people off with my ugly mug, lol.

I've always been very insecure about my looks- from pictures to video. Even at work when we have zoom calls, I make sure my video/cam is turned off to make sure no one sees me!
Even my friends can't get me on a video call/chat... if they want to see me bad enough and I trust them, I'll send them a picture.

Better still, if they want to see me bad enough, talk to me in person.

When I do its with family when I can't go home, nice to see them and they see me.

For work I disabled my camera on the laptop and told my boss its broken, so now I never have to do it. I also disabled the microphone, just cause of my paranoia that he could be listening to us working from home and I bought a nice 100 dollar gaming head set that I can plug in for those voice conference calls on, then unplug when its over.

I've done it a few times and I agree with you I don't like what I look like on camera are in a picture everybody else says it's fine you look good by blah blah but I just don't feel that but I have done it and I will probably do it again when I get the opportunity there's something that could be Greyhound about it if I don't have the look of myself but I do like looking at other people and having the chat that I have

Back when covid started running wild around here, and hadn't broken out up in my hometown, I set my mother up with a webcam and went over how to use google duo with her. Since then, she video calls me a couple times a week. Other than that, I rarely use video chat.

In college a few years ago my girlfriend was away for the summer break. We did a lot of Facetime video chat and also got naked and watched each other get off. It was kinda fun watching/listening but nit as good as the real thing. Otherwise I use it to chat with parents friends

It's a everything thing for me. In online classes it is mandatory to turn on the camera. When it newly started it was so weird but now I'm used to it because I have no other option. When I feel that I'm looking ugly I remove my video tab like thing but when I think I'm looking good then I don't mind it instead I glance at myself at times.

I had no choice but to do zoom recently. Twice in fact. Luckily it was just my ex husband and a mediator.
Because of this, I applied for a place on a focus group, and video chat for 1 hour for £75 because I needed the cash. It was awful for me, but I done it. Never again. Other than that I never do it. Hate everything about it 😱

Maybe a few times a month. My sister and mom like to use it, so they are really the only reason I use it.  Other than that, never use it.

Working from home during the pandemic, we use video chat via TEAMS for work meetings a couple times a day. Personal video chat via Skype is less often.
