I'm pretty sure that most of the suggestions are because you guys are both friends with the same person. I also heard that if you have someone's phone number in your phone but you don't have them as a friend on Facebook then Facebook finds an account that is accociated with that number and suggests it for you. So basically they just do your dirty work for you.
This is y i dont use facebook. Try this it will blow your mind. When your with a couple freinds. Just go online on fb. But have a 2 minite conversation say about Canada. Or kraft dinner. Like verbally with you and your freinds. Dont post or type anything. Just talk about it in person w the people your with. Then log off. Half hour a hour later. One of you will have a add for what you talked about on your facebook when you log back in. So weird but usually always happens
I have wondered this myself. I keep getting suggestions from random people that I don't even communicate with.

It depends on your contact information and mutual friends and location based
I think it's mostly people you look up. I stalked a random profile for a while and then they came up on my suggestions. There's no way they would have looked at me
