How to not be depressed playing a MMORPG?

Usually, when I played a MMORPG. I feel depressed.

If you're not a social butterfly just don't play them.

Team vs AI shooters are better in my opinion like vermin tide or Left 4 Dead because you're all kind of incentivized to be friendly, work together and make small talk. Way better dynamic and easier to find friends to play with due to the lower time commitment.

Because in most case of MMO's I see a character that is doing something, slowly gaining skill, in something that I could be doing and attaining the same amount of skill.

Change how you view playing MMO or that MMO specifically. Also, try to find someone to play it with, since that can make games significantly more fun.
