Where is the worst place your car has broken down?

I used to live in a very rural area. Broke down up a mountain. Could only get down the mountain by being in neutral and keeping foot on the brake. Not good.
It was actually with my dad, he was driving his car, and I was with him (parents divorced; it was a visit.) Never seen him that stressed out, ever.

Another time, going to a lake, got a flat tire. What a mess.

Another time, coming back from a mountain drive, the car of the woman I worked for, started making strange noises and then would only go at a low max speed.
I was taking it out for a drive while she was out of town, because I got it smog checked for her, but that didn't go well. They sent me away, told me to drive it a while, then come back, which I did. Then I had to take it to a shop for repairs. Another mess.

Another time, going up to a ski mountain in winter, a car broke down on the side of the road, and because two lanes had parked on each shoulder, the entire bunch of people got stuck and could not go up or down the mountain.

People really need to service their cars more.

Situations like these are why I am a city girl. I hate being out in the boonies. Shit always happens.

If you count broken down as burst into flames, then it was in the middle of the local town center on one of the busiest streets. I called for the fire brigade and then the insurance company. This is all that was left of it.

I go to an Island on vacation., You need to take a ferry to get there. Once my Chevy Blazer died and I had to call a tow truck. I had to pay extra because the truck had to come over on the boat and tow me off the island. They had to replace the starter. The guy that owned the garage had a new computer system that was not working. I fixed it while I was waiting so the guy did not charge me for labor, he just charged for the part.

In the middle of a long stretch of country road with nothing but woods. It wasn't down completely but the overheat light cut on. I braved it and turned around and went to a gas station a mile away to pull over and get my dad to see what's upThe light cut on for nothing. made me an hour late for work.
