How to connect a Canon printer to a laptop?

Depends on the printer. (New) printers don't have any cables, besides power, you need to connect the printer to the Wifi network.

But its best to read the manual, usually they got a step by step instruction.

If its an older printer, you usually just need to connect the USB cable and windows will install drivers automatically.

Either plug it in to the computer and install the print driver, connect by blue tooth if that's a thing on it by allowing it to connect to your computer, or connect it to another computer on your network and share it as a network printer. Canon is just a brand. No one knows what model printer or laptop you have.

I did this recently. You attach a wire from the printer to the lap top and than email all files to your lap top, than clink print with the printer attached to your lap top while visiting your email inbox.

It should work through the wifi, no? Did it come with software? There should be some prompts on the screen to assist the connection. I haven’t had to do the set up for years.

Simplest: Plug it in with a USB cable, switch on the printer (and the computer :D )
