I bought a MacBook in 2009 lasted till 2014. Bought another for 3000$ in 2015 lasted till Sept 2019. Bought one in Sept 2019 for $4500, it was the top of the line MacBook... I was stupid to purchase one at that price, but I love MacBooks... but I don't think I'll ever buy one again. I use my laptop at least 12 hours a day... and the one I bought in 2015 the screen burnt out. I am afraid for it to happen to this MacBook
There's a chip shortage which might go some way to explaining the increase. Technically a "reasonable" price increase is whatever the market will sustain. Of course it's bad news if your income hasn't almost doubled in the last couple of years.
I don't think you should compare this that way and there is factor of inflation as well. There is 3-5% inflation every year, multiply it 12 times and it comes out 1900$ have 2/3 of eal value of 1200$ 12 years back.
If it's exactly the same model then no you should be paying less. If its the updated new version then yes it's reasonable

You can thank the Biden administration for 90% of the inflation
I hope you mean the 2022 equivalent and not the literal same computer as it would be obsolete now.
But yes, given inflation and supply problems that is not unreasonable.
It's almost like the Davos elite manufactured a supply crunch.
But that couldn’t possibly be true, could it? Rent seeking blowhard genocidal maniac criminals who have contributed nothing to the world but be born into privilege in the ruling class and who want a massive population reduction of the people they consider “worthless eaters” so that they can have more for themselves wouldn’t possibly weaponized starvation against us peasants using the Stalin or Mao models, would they?
Hopefully it's not the same computer and instead a newer model otherwise I'd say the computer should be a lot less than the original price unless it has upgraded hardware that improves the computer.
No it is not.. everything is gone nuts in pricing.. it's getting out of hand.
This is certainly not a reasonable price increase for anything as the Fed raises interest rates
Outrageous, profiteering
