How much of a price hike are you seeing in the products you use?

The prices are increasing like crazy! the shopkeepers around the area may have formed a cartel to systematically increase the prices at the same time so that people do not have any option!

What do you think? What are the prices and how much they have increased as compared to their earlier ones?

It's complicated because there's a different increase for every product where I live.

I didn't know that it was happening the same in India. On the news they say it's because of the war in Ukraine, the drought in the country and other external factors.

Yes, the war might affect some prices but I don't believe that it affects everything. In my opinion we're paying for the Covid vaccines and the governments are trying to get back all the money they lost with lockdowns.

I've seen 20% on something but most stuff hasn't moved but I suppose my increased earnings has an affect on that as well

My average grocery bill has gone from about 300 per month to 700 per month for the exact same things.

About 111% increase in price!! That is just too much!
To save on increasing costs, I have started going to the mega market we have in our town. Things are really cheap there compared to the local shops.

There is one food item I like that went up over 50%. Other items maybe 10-20%.

In India currently, inflation is at 7.2%. Wayy over the limit. And in The States too, when the limit is of 2% max to max, the inflation over there is also wayy over the limit. That is why interest rates have been increased so that cash flow is maintained and inflation is controlled a bit.

I have already connected the dots, but I just wanted to know the situation in other places as the price of the same product can vary based on the region. The products whose sources are locally sourced can have variations in their prices even under the same brand. Like milk and all.
