To sugar their ego, of course.

Some beta dimwits seek "validation" but they are the minority.

The majority of people are on there to rub in your face WHY and HOW they are the best in their group. Thus "entitled" to the pedestal that they are on. The reaction being their following increasing, if they do it well. While others may try tear them down.

It's what being an "influencer" means. i. e. You are able to walk the fine line of sugaring your ego so people follow rather than repel your ideals.

Whereas before the internet you had to be a really big deal to be able to afford such a marketable base. Now nearly any fuckwit can become an "influencer" if they have the right base, market and product.

Let’s be real. Anyone who shows off on social media is about one reason - validation.

That’s it. All you’re seeking is validation.

Sure, maybe they do love themselves but maybe they still want more validation that they really think they need.

Remember, people carve attention. They want to be seen and appreciated. Social media validation is easy way to get that.

Social media ultimately is a place where people with insecurities can go to live this unrealistic fantasy or make themselves feel better and if that’s what they choose to do; fine more power to them lol

Simple: for attention and ego boost. Though nowadays people can make money on social media being "influencers." (Which to me, is NOT a real job, but more power to them)

But I'd say attention more than anything. Because once people follow them, it feeds their: self esteem, ego, and wallet. That's why social media is so addictive; people use it to fulfill their needs they wouldn't normally get in real life.
