Have you ever had to talk to someone using a translator? how did it go?

So lately I meet someone in a virtual space, and got talking, they used a translator as they did not know English at allOverall it was all nice, we both like to take photos in the virtual space and it was a nice over all with casual talkMeet him a while later, and they start asking about friendship and stuff, after a while I understand that the translator was messing it up some what and what they where asking for is for a lover... that kind of taken it down the hill from thereHave you had a good or bad experiences with a translator? willing to share some of it?

I made a presentation to a group of Chinese several years ago, using a translator. It was difficult to learn to say one sentence, let the translator translate, before saying the next sentence. I'm a fast talker, and I had to slow down, way down. It worked though.
