By your logic, anything done "all day" means it's not productive and is problematic. Yet doctors, video editors, film makers, Youtubers etc etc will all be working "all day". More days than not, on something important to them.

I'm online a lot thanks to work and my ttrpg hobby. However, most evenings of a typical week, I'm out and about doing my other hobbies - like climbing, martial arts, or hanging with friends.

Living in reality is just better for my health.

If you need to use the internet/technology a ton for your job, then obviously you aren't a loser. You are using it for work which earns you money. Now, if you are someone who is just downright GLUED to the internet, like you are constantly stalking Facebook/Instagram, constantly posting your every move, constantly watching TikTok or posting TikTok videos, etc., then you aren't exactly a "loser", but you do have an addiction to social media which is an issue.

You don't need to be attached to your phone 24/7. You don't need to post your every move constantly. That can actually be unsafe as a matter of fact. If you're posting your daily schedule online, the wrong eyes can view it. That can lead to you becoming a victim of crime. Criminals will use social media to check when people are not home/on vacation for example, then break into their home. Posting your children online constantly is definitely not wise either. The world doesn't need to know that little Johnny plays little league for such and such team and is number whatever. That is TOO much info to be giving strangers about your child.

I keep my phone by my pillow at night simply because it's my alarm and I don't really feel like being late to work. If I were to forget my phone at home, well, I'd just not have my phone. If I remembered while I was locking the door or in the car about to leave, I may go back inside for it. But if I remember once I've already started driving, it's staying. I'm not turning around just for my cell phone.

It's fine to use social media if you must. I personally have no reason to. Things like Facebook are just too personal for me. I don't need people knowing my every move and I don't care to know theirs either. I've also had issues with stalking, so I definitely try my hardest to keep a low profile. I feel things like Facebook would be incredibly unsafe for me and fear a former stalker may be able to track me down again thanks to it.

There is nothing wrong with putting down the phone for a bit and simply enjoying some real, old fashioned human-to-human interactions or nature. Go outside and take a walk. Visit a park. Meet up in person with a friend or friends (and don't play on your phone the whole time). Actually have a real, face-to-face conversation. Don't stare at your phone when someone is speaking to you in person. Make eye contact with them and truly engage in the conversation.

Oh I'm definitely a loser as far as that's concerned. But not so much in other ways.
Socially I'm as low as it gets, but I also have a lot going on in life and I'm doing quite well.

So I guess it depends on your definition of loser. This app is very addicting

Twenty years ago I would have said yes. Nowadays I say no. I don't have the money to go out to bars, and its hard as hell to find decent community meet ups to meet new people. I'd literally be stranded and alone if the internet wasn't here to help me meet new people. I'm just thankful I sometimes can hang out with the people I meet online, at conventions or local get togethers occasionally.

I think this would apply to television more than the internet. The internet give a person an expression, it's not a force feeding of fiction like television. Unless you frequent certain sites that don't allow comments and never leave those sites.

I would not go as far to say it makes some one a loser, I’m not saying it is healthy though.

If taken too far it can be very unhealthy and detrimental to one’s life.

As with many other things the key is finding balance.
