Should tech giants be broke up?

Yes. They should never have been allowed to exist in the first place. Not just tech, but pretty much every type of mega company. Competition has gone down the drain over the last 20-30 years because of all the mergers and acquisitions.

When you have real competition, prices go down. When you have little or no competition prices skyrocket. This is exactly what we've seen. It also prevents easy entry into the market for anyone other than other big companies. Once they monopolize, it pretty much locks them in place.

Case in point was the breakup of the phone company. After the breakup, prices immediately plummeted to a tenth of what they were before. Then over time the "baby bells" started merging until it was almost like it was before the break up. Guess what? The prices started increasing dramatically again.

the irony, with the iphone everything is an extra, why dont split the company into the items they sell
