CB Radio why everyone needs to get one?

I hear it and i read it all the time so many talking about how they have a cellphone they don't need a CB radio. They point out how they can contact anyone in the world with their cellphone they can share photos to their relatives and friends even on the other side of the world. They can do transactions play games and even do videos and print from their cellphone. And so why should they have something like a CB radio. So why you ask? It can be summed up in 4 words (The Internet Kill Switch), search that up. CB radios all work well even the cheapest CB radios the $50 dollar ones with a good antenna that is such as a K30 or Tram 300 for mobile antenna or the 5/8 high gain antenna for base roughly $150.

When the power goes out CB radios go right on working and that is because CB's transmit by antennas and their transmissions are received by all other CB antennas with in reach. CB radios are cheap they need no license to operate and once bought it never again cost a dime to use it. They are easy to install too and where all other form of communication will and do fail CB radios go right on working they will not.

Given all the facts above for those who have invested so much confidence in their cellphones who think CB radios are lacking and pointless, does any of the above chance your mind?

Don't be daft. There is no "internet kill switch" but there ARE "radio signal jammers" you can get for 50 bucks upwards that will screw any radio device within 10 meters to miles.

Unless you are a hillbilly in the boonies or a trucker there is little reason to mess around with CB, get a GMRS device or Boafeng radio instead. Better range and higher audio quality than any CB radio on the market.

Also, there are apps like CB Talk that let you use CB radio frequencies on a smart phone

I agree. That's why I got my amateur license years ago, and more recently, a GMRS license which uses the same frequencies as those license-free FRS transceivers they sell at big box stores.

I chose to remain stealthily which is why I never bothered with licensed radio or with high powered radios. And that is why I choose the CB radio you walk it you buy it and install it takes 5 or 10 minutes for that and you are on the air. You don't have to have any fees or sit around and wait for some entity to tell you that you have the right to do what you should have to right to do anyway as long as you follow the rules. License and fees are not freedom they are a form of slavery.

My husband is an amateur radio enthusiast.

He operates his ham radio base station quite often and usually monitors & communicates on the CB radio bandwidth (27 mhz?), SSB, VHF, UHF, etc.

Our RVs have CB radios and handheld 2-way radios.

Good to hear because those without radios are going to get a real surprise when they attempt to use a phone only to discover it useless having no service basically turned into a paper weight. That and there is vital information that is being shared over CB radio that is being censored on the internet.
