Someone I know thinks this site is full of creeps and I'm sharing too much of my life, what do you think?

I always felt like I had a good feel of online spaces and I've never had any bad experiences. But I've also never had high enough of a profile for someone to want to damage my life. If that were to change then I would have to take precautions but I've been here a long time and nothing bad has happeed and I just ignore the things that don't fit what I'm looking for.

Anyway I just wanted to hear what you think and your approach to what you share and what you keep to yourself. There are a few things I shouldn't have written in hindsight but it's a small number of posts.

I've come to learn there are stalkers, creeps and bullies everywhere including this site. But there are also very good people on here as well which is why I've stayed on the site. You just have to start blocking those that come across creepy or stalkers or being a bully/troll.

I have this one girl (28) stalking and trolling the hell out of my questions which I find disturbing because I don't do anything to anyone. I've given her ample amount of chances to stop doing it but she's given me no choice but to block her the next time she comes on my question harassing me.

It's sad that there are people on this site that come on here just to be creepy or harass and troll people but I'm finding that some people just have nothing better to do in their life but be that way.

Protect yourself as much as possible. I try not to give too much away about myself. There are just some people who become super obsessed which is just weird and crazy.

You're lucky. I wasn't getting stalked really until she came along. This particular girl, 28 comes on a lot of people's questions with harassing and trolling comments.

I want to make a complaint. I don't think that these bullies with negative IQ are "trolling", they're just being the shits they are, while "trolls" are funny.

I agree but still annoying nevertheless. Trolling is still a form of harassment no matter how funny it might come across.

I have been on GaG for more than 3 -1/2 years now and only one bad thing has happened.
Someone was apparently offended by me saying the word fat.
So she told her husband and he hacked into my account and did some damage that can't be fixed.

The little icon picture of the envelope ✉️ and the guy and the three dots were removed. So I can't send someone a message and I can't follow someone and or block anyone.

I ain't no skinny girl myself and a lot of people in the health topic use the word fat. So I guess she's fat to have her husband hack into my account and do permanent damage to it was her way of paying me back.
GaG won't fix my account either 😞

In internet communities, you can only get exposed if you choose to leave identifiable traces that could be combined such as:

• Precise location
• Identifiable portrait
• Civil name
• Identifiable username

That's exactly why I have no portrait, no civil name, no nothing here. Under these circumstances, whatever opinions or personal views I have, they are anonymized.

Yes I have been stalked before. I tell people right off the bat that I am married and do not want any weird stuff but they do it anyway. I just block them

They aren't necessary wrong. There are a lot of creeps on here. I see them comment daily and could 100 percent poing them out on s daily basis. Some people are just fucked up, broken. That's all I can tell you.

Just don't give away too much of your perdonal info.

I wish I could delete posts. It's kinda scary that every thought I've had or deed I've done is now immortalised forever. Like you, I'm hopefully never going to attract enough attention from anyone wanting to use it against me. But it's something to be mindful of for sure.
