Have you ever been BANNED from a website?

Question

Shortly after my divorce, at my ex-wife's suggestion, I joined a dating website and posted my profile, stating exactly what I was looking for, meeting women but not interested in anything long-term. Someone must have complained about that because the site banned me "for violating site guidelines." Oh well, I went to a different dating site, posted a similar profile, met several women who I dated over the next few years, and eventually met my wife there.

I've been banned from several websites and others I have left before it happened. 1) Xianz, I made a comment about we are all smoking weed out of good Christian faith. Followed by lol. I was instantly and permanently banned for that. 2) Shout life, they said I was soliciting myself, all I was trying to do was meet people in hopes of making friends or maybe even getting a girlfriend there. 3) Facebook, I was trying to make friends with people because I was very very lonely. The site didn't like how many private messages I sent out, or how many people I added to my friends list. I also faced some other close calls. I recently quit 7 cups because they claimed that I flirted too much. I quit social anxiety support because one of the new moderators didn't like me participating in a throw back picture thread. Everyone else was saying all the same things I did, yet they picked on me for some reason. Jcfaith, I quit the site because I learned that a moderator was reading my private messages and even deleted one of them. Me and someone was talking about Christian bands and all I did was bring up the fact that one of my former favorite bands was using swear words, and that was enough to get my private message deleted. I quit instagram because the site was trying to limit how many comments I was allowed to make in a day. Lots of sites are frustrating.

back in the early 2000's a video game came out that was really impressive, but riddled with bugs that severely limited the gameplay and made it total garbage, but the promise and hope was there. They had a forum on their website, and at first it started with a lot of us reporting the bugs, but when no fixes or patches came after several months, some of us got a bit heated in our posts.

But then they announced that all the bugs would be fixed, you just needed to buy an expansion, that cost the same price as the original game. They would NOT be patching the original if you didn't buy the expansion.

I made new posts every day expressing my dissatisfaction.

They banned me for trolling.

So, I came across Reddit many years ago. I read some opinions and questions for a bit before I thought... why not create an account? And so I did. After creating an account, I completely forgot about it as I was really busy in life. Then I got this mail 7 or 8 months later that my account was deleted as "I broke the rules" I was so confused as I never even posted anything. Heck, I was not even active at all. So, I was like... HUH?

Maybe they did it because I never verified my account or maybe someone hacked into my account, and trolled other users.. who knows. 🤷‍♀️ I never bothered to find out why or what happened. I don't like Reddit since the

once that i remember. when i was 18 and was bored one day, i joined the main incel forum for fun, they used to allow girls. i only posted a couple times and they banned me because i said looks mattered to me to some extent in guys

I've been banned from a particular group on a website.
The action hurt me very deeply.
It was a group for survivors of cardiac arrest.
I joined the group shortly after my cardiac arrest events of early 2024.

The douche who instigated my banning is a self-proclaimed minor celebrity in the world of survivors of cardiac arrest, conducting interviews and speaking publicly on the subject.

He's even written and published a pamphlet on the subject, with him reminding readers over and over that the utmost love and patience should be afforded those who've experienced cardiac arrest.

I'd say that he needs to practice that which he preaches.

my account (this one) had been temporarily frozen before, cause of a power tripping mod who was hellbent on deleting my opinions on a topic (don't remember what exactly anymore) despite them not being against the terms of service. i remember how i re posted the same thing multiple times slightly rephrased and them deleting it over and over every time with different completely unrelated bullshit reasons. too bad i as a user never saw what mod that was or if the admins kicked them off their mod duty. i sure hope so. eventually my account was unfrozen by the admins cause obviously i did nothing wrong.

I'm always spicy in my comments but I never overstep specific red line. Of course my comments about Muslims currently are offensive and I'm sure 3 years back I was banned for such comment but the Zeitgeist changed.

Why were you on a dating site if you're married?

I got banned from Yahoo Answers multiple times. They were so strict, that you commited 2 violations and they banned you.

I got banned from an entire section of Reddit, because I got tired of Asians complaining against racism in White countries, so I made a post talking about the racism I experienced from THEM!

I got banned from Yelp for "bullying", 'cuz some Leftists were bitching about restaurants in my area not following COVID guidelines, so I told them "this is a red county, sweetheart. No one's forcing you to eat here. If you want COVID compliance go to a restsutant in SF, but don't tell us how to live in OUR towns."

I got banned from an amateur pornsite. They didn't even tell me for what. My guess is, it was for trying to bypass posting limits or calling the admin a hypocrite for not taking his own pants off.

And I got banned from Wikipedia for posting dick pics😂

ha yeah. On a small forum I was on, with some cast offs from a defunct mp3 website.

Anyway, I was threatened with being banned or my opinions being deleted for sharing my free mind during covid.

As it turns out, I told 'em to go fuck themselves and deleted my account.

To be fair, let this place let me speak my mind during that time. Full credit to it.
