As of a week or 2 ago, I keep getting warnings on my phone & don't know if they're legit. I'm quite new to cell phones so, how can I tell if it is?

Every time I go to YT to look up a video, I get this warning that my PDF reader it outdated and I need to update or I won't be able to do this or that but, it sounds like a scam, to me! At first, there's no echo on the voice but, the echo keeps getting more obvious as the message goes on.
How can it be outdated when the phone is only about 6 months old?
Why have I never gotten this message on my computers when they are nearly 15 years old?

Reads like you might have malware or adware - if not a dodgy app.

Instal Malwarebytes mobile from the play store - the scan is free. That should tell you what apps and crap is running, then you just need to type each one individually into Google to find out how to remove it.

Set your phone to auto-update the installed apps. At least when in a local WiFi network.

Yes but, I would think that, like my computers, it just takes the updates automatically.
