Why is YouTube forcing full unskippable ads before music videos now?

It used to be if you wanted to hear a music video you could choose "skip" to skip any ads and get right to the video. Now you have to listen to a full ad (the one I just saw was the cure for poop clogging your colon 💩) before the music video starts. What's with that? Anyone see this happening?

That happened to me yesterday for the first time. It made me angry 😡 because I was forced to listen to the whole thing which was long.

I also have been getting a lot of these white boxes with ads that are standstill ads. It's bothersome because it stays in the right hand corner to the middle of the program you are watching. SonI have to check the X to make it go away. It's a hassle!

It's all about the money and I'm sure YouTube generates a lot of capital it sucks for us just like with anything else that we could watch on the internet it's all about the ads now one day we'll get tired of it and just stop watching because we're sick and tired of the ads especially the ones that are over and over and over every 2 seconds I hate even being on the internet anymore

Because they want you to pay for their subscription to make more Money from people. Why I started using Spotify , Spotify usually plays 2 songs before a commercial comes on , so I think it’s better than YouTube now. Unless you want to pay for the subscription.

You know when you ask a question G@G gives you another thread like your question that was asked a year ago. Someone asked the same question then as it had been happening to them. But to me it is very recent. By the way, who is Captain Obvious as he was there too but it doesn't show him as being inactive. Does he still post here?

Google/Chrome/Youtube is always updating their platforms... in order to pester users with ads and other nonsense

and browsers and ad-blockers update their codes as well... sometimes, it can take a couple of days to catch up

Wait a minute. I just remembered, I have Adblocker so it doesn't seem to work on YouTube. 🤔

They have been slowly changing the way they do YouTube and continually making changes geared towards having multiple unskippable ads in front of every video. They want to increase their ad revenue so they slowly acclimate us to worse and worse ads
