The Coaster Wars of 2019: Six Rollercoasters coming to North America in 2019

Every year it seems like Amusement Parks try to outdo each other by seeing who can build the fastest, tallest, most adrenaline-pumping rollercoaster that they can. 2019 is surely going to be an interesting year for roller coasters. Five new coasters are going up as we know of in the US and one in Canada.

Steel Curtain, Kennywood (Pittsburgh, PA).

The Coaster Wars of 2019: Six Rollercoasters coming to North America in 2019

This rollercoaster is themed on the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL team. 220 feet tall with a 197-foot tall corkscrew. The ride will feature 9 inversions at speeds of excess of 75 miles per hour.

Copperhead Strike, Carowinds (Charlotte, NC/SC)

By far this is the one I'm kinda excited about. This will be a double launch coaster with a moonshine theme. The ride will start with a barrel roll right out of the station. Then a launch out of a barn/ moonshine still from 0 to 42 mph in 2.5 seconds then will go through 2 inversions then slowing to 35 mph to run into a second launch at 50 mph in 2 seconds without stopping, then into 2 more inversions. The ride will be half a mile long with two 360 degree loops.

Dragonflier, Dollywood (Smoky Mountains, TN)

The Coaster Wars of 2019: Six Rollercoasters coming to North America in 2019At the current time not much is known about this ride other that it will be 63 feet tall at a speed of 45 mph.

Maxx Force, Six Flags Great America

The Coaster Wars of 2019: Six Rollercoasters coming to North America in 2019 Maxx Force will be a compressed air launch coaster. It will feature 5 inversions including the world's fastest zero-g roll at 60 mph and the world's tallest double inversion. The ride will also feature the launch with the highest acceleration in America, launching from 0-78mph in under 2 seconds.

West Coast Racers, Six Flags Magic Mountain California

This will be a Double launched racing coaster themed on West Coast Customs which was famous on the old MTV show Pimp My Ride. The ride will launch riders 55 miles an hour through 4 zero gravity rolls.

Yukon Striker, Canada's Wonderland

This will be the tallest roller coaster in Canada. Dropping riders 245 feet at a 90-degree angle while going over 4 inversions and an underwater tunnel at speeds of 80 mph.

These are the only coasters known so far in North America for the time being. Personally, there's going to be a lot of competition seeing that there are going to be three double launched coasters. I like that the Steel Curtain is kinda got a unique theme to it. Copperhead Strike might look like a tamer coaster, but it will definitely pack a punch. Maxx Force is pretty much going to probably be the big winner in the US at least, while Yukon Striker will be a big hit in Canada. The West Coast Racers looks like a good ride, and kinda scary knowing that the 2 tracks will intertwine with each other at intervals. as for Dollywood's coaster, it's kinda surprising not really being given a lot of information as Dollywood is one of the fastest growing theme parks in the US.

Which of these Coasters looks the most appealing to you? Feel free to comment what you would ride and wouldn't.
