The Ups and Downs of Life's Rollercoaster

Emotions are strange, to say the least, and they affect everyone differently. Although we use some common techniques to handle the wide range of feelings.

If we feel an over abundance of happiness, we tend to express it by doing things we enjoy. Which is the same when we want to be happy unless another emotion is too overwhelming.

Anger and sadness are too extremely different feelings that we tend to deal with the same way. As people, we isolate ourselves when we think our emotions may inflict pain on others. Sometimes we use other people to deal with negative emotions, but it doesn't always prove effective. Instead, we turn to things that will clear our minds, like writing or exercise. If the emotion is too intense, we may break down and cry.

Sometimes we try to control, numb, or "bottle up" our emotions. Although it is an unhealthy way of managing them, we do it anyway. Managing emotions this was can cause a sudden snap or breakdown, but in the most extreme cases, it can cause us to numb all feelings leaving us to live life just going through the motions.

All in all, it's better to experience the emotional rollercoaster of life. Enjoy the excitement and thrill of the ride. Enjoy the moments of sadness or anger when you've been waiting so long and it just breaks down. Enjoy the dread of it ending, the fear of a new ride. Life may have the ups and downs of a rollercoaster, but it's there for your enjoyment.
