Zions National Park

Recently went to Zion's National Park and it was great. It rained on me and snowed, my two favorite kinds of weather.

Here are some pictures of the trip.

For those who do not know, there is a Northern Part and a Southern Part. This is from the Northern Part, called Kolob Canyons. This is more of a scenic drive than anything, I did not do any hiking here.

The rest was at Zions National Park. Also known as Zion's Canyon.

Do to the storm, there was dozens of little water falls all over, that you don't normally see when its not raining, or snowing. It was really cool.

Before going eastward into the Tunnel, a water fall from the storm and a view of one of the several tunnels.

If you've never been there, on the east side of the park is the Mount Carmel Tunnel that has been dug through the mountain, it is pretty close to the edge of the cliffs but all inside, it is really cool to drive through, but larger vehicles won't fit.

East Side of Park

If you do go, know that it is crazy busy and hot in the summer, shuttle buses are required during the busy season. There is tons of hiking trails, I wore myself out.

Yes I’ve been lucky enough to visit there. Although it was an absolutely horrible time for me in Utah, the park was outstanding! It was extremely beautiful, and was the highlight of my trip! Just being there, finally alone, and looking at all the beautiful mountains and cliffs faces, the rivers and streams, the entire topology. It was honestly nonstop beauty around every turn! You are lucky you saw as much as you did, We were limited on where we could go for some reason I forget.

It helps that most people are afraid of a little rain and snow and I'm not, kept the park pretty empty. Made it quick and easy to do a lot of stuff.

Oh I don’t mind a little precipitation, especially here in Florida were the rain is tropical, and usually about 70 degrees, but snow? Nah, you can keep that… too cold. Hey, you mentioned “quick and easy”. I knew of a girl in my high school with that nickname! LOL 😂

Very funny, yeah rain and snow, it was probably around 30 or so here, made for nice cool hikes in the mud.

I was there on Thanksgiving Day in 2012 or 2013. It's BEAUTIFUL! It the temperature was just right! I even heard a bugling elk! Haunting!

I worked at Zion National Park well going College in Southern Utah University. I think Zion Canyon was my favorite place to go during my breaks. My my roommate at that time lived in Toquerville, Utah. The red sandstone has its beauty and its all. I hike the Narrows and went up to Angels Landing. Thank you for sharing these photos and brought back great memories.

I really like that park.
Started going there in the 70's.
We were on a bike trip, and we never had to set up our tents, just laid there and looked at a bazillion stars.
hiked up to the emerald pool I think it was called and went swimming/lounging in it.

Yeah, Kolab Canyon is the best. Narrows were cool, but I've personally never found it as scenic. Would like to hike the Narrows again some time, but yeah, taking the shuttle is a bitch. It's too crowded. I like Bryce and Arches.

Yeah it rained when I tried to visit arches national park which was odd cause they only rain 2 days a year on average.

I’ve been there many times and it is amazing. Not many people go to Kolob Canyons. Great photos!

Went there this past August. Passed through that tunnel three times in a bus.
Glad the bus driver knew how to handle the switch backs!

I take it you didn't hike the Narrows, as it looks like it was pretty cold when you were there. That is a lot of fun; just have to make sure there are no cloudbursts upstream.

I went with my fiancé.

I've been taken several times with family as a child but this was my first trip there as an adult to drive myself.

Definitely the southern part.
