A Trip Down The Oregon Coast

Spring of 2021 I took a trip down the Oregon coast, my first time of doing this.

I did drive along the Columbia River to get to the coast from where I live.

Spent the Night in Astoria and then moved on, checking out various ship wrecks, beaches and light houses. Along with historical sites.

Stayed in a resort for awhile, that had a westward facing balcony, this is the view from it near sunset.

Last of all, went I left Oregon went into Northern California into the Redwoods

Finish off by saying it is sad that signs like this need to even exist, maybe we should let people self eliminate when a Elk stomps on them.

Yeah, and to be fair, I was still in High School last year! I have so many blessings, and I am so happy for you that you were able to travel to such beautiful destinations. Please don’t let my silly attempt at humor cast a cloud over such an amazing and beautiful trip! Congratulations!

Its all good, and my company offers six weeks of paid time off a year, so use a month for vacations and two weeks for sick time or other emergencies as needed.

Won't travel as much this year as remote work is ending though.

Hope you can travel some too.

Thanks Jade, that was really sweet of you to say! I'm hoping to go to a far away place for spring break in my sophomore year. I just couldn’t go w/ mom being so sick this year. But I hope she will be better this time next year!

Made that trip a while back. And have been to parts of it many times. Also have been up and down the shores of the Columbia. Have you visited the wonderful waterfalls and trails on the south side of the Columbia? Well worth visiting if you have not already.

Nope didn't know about it, but saw it went to go back but road was closed at the time due to a car accident, so figured get it next time.

You're a smart girl. I just imagine that when the "history bug" bites you then you would be enamored with Peru and England and the west Coast of France and Italy.
I hope you get a chance to visit Europe and South America as well.

Did you get to Jesse Honeyman State Park in Oregon? Went there as a kid and loved it.

Sounds familiar, is that the Sand dunes place? if so I went in looked around and left, didn't go riding or anything as I have closer dunes near me that I go riding on.

Yep. Loved going over the dunes, swimming at the lake. Didn't ride anything mechanical as I was < 10 at the time

It is such a beautiful drive. Over the course of 2 summers, I did the full coastal drive from the top of Washington, to the furthest southern point in California. While all of it was great, the Oregon and northern California coasts can't be beat.

Some are automated no tours, but due to covid those that aren't were not doing tours, so nope.
