I’m posting some maps below to help y'all choose in case you’re not familiar with a state. I often state where I’d go and Ig im sticking to it lol! Top 2 would be North Carolina and Georgia for sure. I went to NC to visit Charlotte and Raleigh and loved Charlotte and really hope to move there next year. I've only been to GA for Atlanta and although i love the shopping and theme park, I wouldn't live in that city if i chose Georgia. For my Top 3 state, I’m torn between FL and TX. I've only visited Houston Texas for a church event but I’d consider living in Dallas for the pay and I’d visit Austin, Fort Worth and San Antonio for the entertainment. I’d go to Florida for the theme parks and food in Orlando and Miami, but i’d prefer to live in Tallahassee out of all its cities. #FeelFreeToList

Really wasn't expecting people to choose a state based off politics. I guess that crap is more Important than i realized. But yea it has absolutely nothing to do with the states i choose to stay in. Im looking at attractions, diversity, nice atmosphere, scenery, good food, and great pay :) I like that the states i chose have cities that feel just like home but with better attractions and pay. The population increase scares me tho considering my city is under 80k pop while these others are 400k+

Texas, Florida, Vegas/Colorado Lived in Texas and loved it there. I went expecting more racism than there I'm from and was proven wrong. Everyone treated me well and the only people I had issues with were out of towners.
Florida I always enjoy when I'm there. Love Miami and could live there. Stupid hot in summer tho so I'd have to figure that out.
Vegas I simply love. I put third tho because I'm not sure I could live there longterm. Which is why I tied it with Colorado which has all the outdoors shit you could want and is a bit more livable in that sense. Good food. But less of a fun party vibe that I like

I agree but with a casino its a more funfilled atmosphere. Plus i wouldve had my own office and only has to walk the floor on occasion. So its a lot different then a retail stores manager

Holy smokes so lucky! I’d love to go one week a year 🤩 i was supposed to go this summer for Ushers Las Vegas residency. Im so mad im missing his concert. His last performance will be New Years. But i do hope to make it back to Vegas next summer
Same, tho not in Summer. Definitely prefer winter time frames towards years end. Oct-Dec Vegas is prime time. Went to Miami for the first time this year two times. Once in Jan and once in April/May timeframe. Definitely preferred Miami in January lol

I went in July lol. The hottest month. But it wasn't hot. Felt good and rained at least an hour a day i was there. I just wanted a month where the best pools were open. I hope to go to miami sometime next year as well. I want to try the food. I love EDM and wanted to go see Calvin harris, DJ Snake, Steve Aoki or Afrojack perform but they werent available when i went. I saw Borgeous instead
Rip lol. That Vegas rain is clutch when it hits tho. If you want to hit that perfect ratio of pool party and not too hot try for Spring Break in Vegas. It's usually not insanely hot and they start opening up more of the top tier parties.
As for Miami. If you can remember the name "Old's Havana Cuban Bar & Cocina" off of 8th street in the South Beach area. You're going to think it's overpriced and it is. You're also going to love everything you eat there no matter how basic lol. So good and they make the classic Mojito there with sugar cane garnish
Believe it or not, im not a partier. If i go to Vegas, its to shop, gamble, relax by the pool, or chill in the corner of a club as that “wallflower” type. I've never been into partying although i love to dance all wild in front of the mirror haha. And how overpriced you talking? Most i spent on a solo meal was $70 🤣
Lol if it's just you you'll spend less than 70 unless you're crushing the mojitos. And miami will definitely be more your speed then. Recommend having a car tho. Uber fees rack up high if you're not walking distance to a lot of areas.
If you spend a little bit more to stay in a good area that's walking distance you will actually save money in the end because you're not spending access money on Uber.
And Miami is better built for shopping than Vegas 😂 especially by Lincoln Road Mall

Very doable. I know people who legit plan their flights to multiple places in Florida on the cheap, because Miami is a hub as well as Orlando airport. So you can fly basically all over Florida at a really low cost
Now that I think about it there's also a Dade County tram that you can get on for free all up and down Miami area. Just have to look at "Tri Rail" locations near you and checkout the times. Makes it more accessible to travel without a car
They have a ticket printout machine but there's no one to check it so everyone just walk in the tram. So maybe if it's packed buy the ticket but other than that just hop on lol

Yea i loooooved visiting Vegas but i couldnt move there unless i legit got a nice casino job. Hawaii is lovely but too expensive. I’d choose North Carolina because its a mix of everything. You have snowing mountains on one side, white water rafting on another, a few theme parks, some Nascar drag racing, nice jobs, beautiful cities, good pay, decent food, night life, friendly people… it basically reminds me of home but with better pay haha :)
I'd be Florida, Texas, and Alaska, for me. Georgia if I could pick a fourth one. I've never been to Texas, Alaska, or Georgia before, but I was raised in a blue state, Pennsylvania, and come from an absolute sh*t-hole city, Philadelphia, so I think I'd get along with people better in the South, even as a politically "purple" person.
I choose Alaska because the nature up there is beautiful; Texas because it seems like the best state right now to raise a family and settle down (even if the question implies I wouldn't be able to do so for long), and Florida because it seems like things are never boring in Florida (if I had kids in Florida, they'd definitely be going to private school or home-schooled, though).
And that "worst at" map has to be liberally biased or outdated. California is the worst at WAY more things that just air pollution. Abortion alone is probably at the top in California. (I just checked; it's New York and New Jersey, which doesn't surprise me, but California is ranked 6th, so not too far off.)
I loved to visit Florida about 25 years ago, so I'd go there and be near the Kennedy Space Center when something is launched! I've always wanted to visit the West Coast and as LA and "Frisco" are both in California so let's add that one. The last one is harder to decide on. I have a friend in Detroit I'd love to meet but that region is not interesting. I'd like to live around the Big Apple for a year but I'd also love to be in the Grand Canyon area so Arizona. Given that I'm not so heat resistant I think New York would be the best nr 3 option.
I've been to 41, East of the Mississippi river I can pretty much obliterate the map completely by sticking pins in it where I've been, but in answer , I would choose Washington state for #1 since I've not been there. #2 would be Utah since I would have a year's time to learn just how the hell a Mormon man copes with 10 wives on his ass harping him lol. Finally #3 would be New Hampshire, no tax on sales, income or property (since I was last there anyhow) & upon crossing the state line their sign says "Welcome to New Hampshire ~live free or die~
Why I lived in Delaware for 17 years. No wonder I have such a sick feeling towards abortion. I knew a girl that would have casual sex all the time with guys. South Dakota has yellow stone, Mt. Rushmore, it has prime real estate prospects, the black hills, for you in particular? The Reservation Casinos LOL. But it has a ton of nature and excellent places to fish and hunt if one so chose. They have awesome gun laws and no sales tax either and I believe low property taxes if memory serves correctly. Healthcare isn't too shabby there either and the quality of life is highly rated. Plus it's not hot and humid like here in MD or like... MS in your case? lol
Well, I'm not an American and I've only been to the United States as a tourist, so I guess my choices wouldn't have a very realistic basis, but would be influenced by other factors (like films, the news, etc.). So, my first choice would be California, my second choice would be New York (I have been there. It seemed to me a huge and dirty city, although it is amongst the most dynamic cities in the world, at the same level as London and Paris, and it also has some beautiful surroundings), and for the third one I'm between Washington State and Louisiana. I don't know which one to choose, actually. I know Washington is cold and has some earthquake risk, while Louisiana is warm but every year has very high hurricane risk. But at the same time the one has incredible landscapes and the other is the place of origin of jazz music, and I love beautiful landscapes and jazz music.
Texas. Arizona, perhaps... Florida... 1) warmer weather. 2) Not as much reputation for extreme identity politics (okay, depends where you go)... and with Arizona and Florida, I know several people who might be a lead to finding work, having friendships might help the transition of moving better, even if work didn't happen through them.
Texas, I don't really know anyone that I'm close enough to who would actually help out, or where I could crash on the couch for a night if need be, but the place I might move to is beautiful, supposedly has a decent cost of living, etc.
1) New Mexico. (I’ve driven through there and it was stunningly beautiful. It seemed like a very peaceful place too.)
2) Florida (It seems warm and fun.)
3) Nevada (It seems like a very interesting state. I always hear about Vegas, but I would enjoy getting to know the regular places in that state and see what it’s like outside of the crazy stuff in Vegas.)

The 2nd year, I’d go to Oregon, as I have another brother who lives there.
My last year, I’d go to Virginia, to enroll at the uni to pursue a PhD. (For my CRNA). They have a really great program there, plus if I were a Virginia nurse I’d be part of the interstate agreement allowing me to be a travel nurse in (38?) other states.

I don't know I've always been fascinated whenever I used to be over the road truck driver how that place looks like a desert you know how all the houses have not all of them but some of them have that red clay and their front yards are not really yours they got cactuses their yards look like deserts I don't know I've always kind of like that I don't know and it'll be some place new I wouldn't have to stay there but that's probably the next place that I would try I might even try somewhere in the middle of the state like Tennessee or Kentucky or the middle of the country excuse me

I've only been to northern Alabama. The Civilian Marksmanship Program has a huge shooting range near Anniston, and I've been to Talladega for auto racing. It nice up there, and a genuine relief from the humidity in Florida. As for Tallahassee, it's the root of all evil in Florida. The only time I'll so much as drive through Tallahassee is while on my way to NAS Pensacola. No big cities for me. I live in a small community which is near a small town, and that's just fine.
A high crime rate, though not nearly as bad as Miami or Orlando. Never mind Micky Mouse, Orlando is another place to avoid. For me, the beauty of Florida is living a small community in a rural county where I can play golf or go shooting at my pleasure. You're looking for excitement... I'm looking to be left the hell alone!
Florida is not among the high income states. If you're looking for money then you may want to take another look at Texas. It's the only state in the deep south with relatively good paying jobs. It also has no state income tax.
Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona. You could not pay me enough to live on the seaboard or in heavy populated cities. Give me good old rural peace and quiet any day.
I've lived in California a couple of timez and if it wasn't so expensive Id probably live there now. Washington might be nice as well as might Oregon so lets say the west coast.

I live in Adidzona now. New Mexico, pretty much low population and I love Hatch chilies. Nevada, for the most part desolate unpopulated. Utah, Low population and I'd like to try having multiple wives !!!
New York, Florida and damn those are like the only two states that I’d be okay living in besides where I live now in California 😂 but I guess if I had to choose I’d say the last one would be Washington because I have family up there

Virginia has some great scenery and cool historic stuff. It has a coastline and is an easy drive to New England, great seafood, lobster, and the amazing fall colors. But it's south of New England so the weather is more moderate.
Wisconsin is green and beautiful. I love the Dells. The Mississippi river is right there. There are lots of beautiful woods and lakes and good freshwater fish. There are lots of farms and scenic rural towns. It's where my paternal relatives wound up shortly after they immigrated from Ireland in 1850. It's also near Iowa where my mom's side of the family was from. I have lots of relatives in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. I've never met the cousins and their families, but we're in contact on Facebook. They're successful farmers and live the good country life. They go out mushroom hunting, fishing, and deer hunting. The wives bake and make amazing fresh food.
The Wisconsin Dells is a magical region on the Wisconsin River that was carved out by the floods of the last ice age. I was there as a kid. It has been highly commercialized since then and is now called the water park of the world, but I'd still like to check it out.
Texas, California, and Louisiana. I've been to new Orleans I'd like to go back. Have never been to Texas or California. Lived in Florida for 25 years. I'd go back and do to visit.
I 've only been to bourbon street and one place in the French quarter. Stayed next to the steel bridge didn't notice it there. Let me know when you make it to Charlotte. Its not too far from me

If I were still living/working in the US it would be to any state that was not a Democrat run state, Florida, Texas, Alaska, as probably my first choices maybe even Idaho if one of the others is not available.
I live in Canada. I have travelled to all the East Coast states when I went to Mardi Gras... and there was no signs of any KKK. I would be more worried with SC, MS, AL... I did not feel good when I went there

I COULD if the climate was better. I lived in Arizona for a year when I was younger. Arizona has a decent climate but it's not perfect. And Dakota and Carolina I'd mainly move to because I like their politics.
It was really a joke but Florida because all the crazy stuff in the news always seems to come from Florida and tx with the new crazy healthcare situation.
I lived there from 95-2003, and liked it. Didn't love it. At the time I moved there it was experiencing a major population due to US Air moving their headquarters there and plenty of 'yankees' like me looking for better weather and a cheaper cost of living. The problem for me was the metro area as a whole just could not handle the rapid expansion. Taxes were so ridiculously low that things like trash pickup, police coverage etc were very poor for a city that size. My buddy lived in a suburb of about 35,000 people that had NO PD. They relied on the County Sheriff for law enforcement. 911 response times were close to the 'don't bother' threshold. Like I said, this was 20 years ago, I'm sure the city has grown into itself by now.
Yea they built it some years ago. But i love it. It was a nice ride that takes you from ine end of the city to the other. You get to pass through every main neighborhood
Vermont Teddy Bears, Ben & Jerry's main factory, numerous skinny dipping places, a laid back attitude, Maple syrup, a lot of quirky, but neat, shops, etc.
New Jersey is close to New York , but more affordable & calmer. And Louisiana because I love the liveliness & culture of New Orleans, plus I got a soft spot for southern men 😂
