Yes I have but it is not that exciting in flight. The balloon is traveling about the same speed as the wind so there is no wind in your hair sensation at all. The champagne is the best part of the flight.
Landing is exciting! To lift say 5 people averaging 100 Kg requires a buoyancy of 500 Kg provided by the density difference of the hot air cw the outside air. So there are a few tonnes of air in the canopy. When the balloon and basket hits the ground those tonnes of air that were travelling at say 5 mph don't stop that quickly!
Yes, was really amazing. (but was in an amazing location). I should say though that I really like heights.
Drifting quietly over the ground and looking down felt completely different from being in an airplane. Lots of fun.
Yes it was quite interesting (I was 8 at the time) to see how hot air balloons worked by being it when in action. Although I was scared when I looked down at the ground and almost leaned too much but my older brother pulled me back and then I ended up getting a lecture from my parents about being careful for like half the time we were up in the air. 🥲
Yes once, in Cappadocia

There are many here in CA, especially down in Temecula. Have never thought of doing it, as the balloon is really uncontrolled flight, and the balloon goes with the wind currents, and you have to rely on, (as in most cases of flight) the skill of the operator. I know little about H. A. B and what it takes to operate one
No, but it's one of those things I'm tempted to get into, if only for bragging rights.
"So, you're pilot?"
"Yeah."
"Fixed-wing or rotary-wing?"
"What the heck's a 'wing'?"
That does pretty much narrow it down to "lighter than air" category - or rocket I guess.
@richardcory Also catapult.
I have a fear of heights so this would be a hard one to overcome. I love rollercoasters but hate the initial climb.
I also have a fear of heights but I had a great timer on my balloon ride. Since you're moving with the wind, there's no breeze and little feeling of movement. I had no problem with the height, very secure in the basket, even when I looked over the edge.
Huh. Good to know! Thanks for sharing.
I was planning on one just before covid but got cancelled a couple of times due to high wind then when the lockdowns came it killed off plans completely.
Did it look like this?
@BoobSlayer who made that balloon, your 10 year old daughter whom you protect from pedophiles like Joey B? I found her photo by the way. She got your grandfather's genes and practices Bean2k21ism.
I enjoyed all those hot air balloon rides a lot.
Now that you've brought it up, I'd like to do it again.
No. I used to consider it but after attending a hot air balloon festival, it looks pretty disappointing
I’m afraid of heights but I would love to try it.
I can in Canada but it’s kinda far and the idea of driving there already deters me.
Should be going with a friend in August. The whole concept of hot air ballooning is so confusing to me so I really want to check it out.
i would like to

have you?
I have! At Disney world. With my older son when I was pregnant with my younger son.
Yep, been up in one once. It was pretty cool.
I've done two, both of which were taken whilst on holiday in Egypt many years ago.
I'm not much of a thrill seeker. . . at least not in THOSE ways!
One of my father's friends took me up in his balloon a few times. I gave him a bj and let him do me.
no thanks. depending on a propane burner seems unnecessarily dangerous.
Yes, I wouldn't say I loved it, it was rather uncomfortable being so near a flame, but I didn't hate it either.
I have not. I have gone hang gliding and sky diving, so maybe a balloon is too tame for me at this stage of my life.
No. I've para-sailed behind a towboat, but never been in a balloon.
it was ok,. except that burner that heats the air is HOT as hell and made me hot. Can't get far enough away from it.
Im trying to get my girlfriend to do this because my wife is afraid of heights
When I was in Alice Springs, Australia, I went on one. Thoroughly enjoyed the ride and view.
@AviatorTom Thank you for the Like
Wife & I did a nude hot air balloon ride once. It was a great way to travel.
No, I don't think I could stand still that long. Id take the quick trip to the ground.
