Hilarious. The FAA has been hiring/promoting Air Traffic Controllers with huge minority preference. The result has been the highest paying (most challenging) ATC positions, being staffed with people ill equipped to work these sectors.
Nothing new.
@drewtate. The powers that be have determined that diversity is the only thing that matters, no matter the carnage.
The result has been the highest number of canceled/delayed flights and the highest number of on tarmac accidents
@KostasKouvalis Truth, but nothing matters more than "diversity".
When I was in the Army I worked with about 5 Chief Warrant ranks. 2 Cw5 and 3 Cw4 all helicopter instructor pilots. 1 of the Cw5 s was African American and one of a few supervisors I have actually highly respected as good decent honest men. He was always talking about how after retirement from the Army that he wanted to be a commercial pilot for the airlines.
This man would not have needed affirmative action because he would have been the best possible candidate.
How would you like to be on an Airplane going overseas with a person who was not the best candidate but not Caucasian and that's why he was chosen? I think not.
Every time I hear a company choosing to hire someone based on diversity rather then who's best for the job it's like well there goes another big CEO's common sense 🙄
I think it’s stupid, although it’s important to be inclusive.

I am good with it since I plan on never flying again.
I'd like to see evidence of this. if true, I'd avoid that airline due to stupidity.
how stupid can they be?
I want the executives of United to choose their Dr.'s based upon diversity... especially brain surgeons... and that's after the colleges graduate people based upon diversity and hospitals hire based upon diversity.
I'll say this though, we may have a lot more southern redneck hick united airlines pilots... cause theyre ain't nun now...
I feel like they are hiring best candidates based on their qualities and lie about diversity. Because its trendy to talk about diversity. If I was the owner of the airline, I would lie and talk bullshit about diversity because of trends and investors requirements but still continue doing what i think is necessary for the business.
When will the NBA announce a similar hiring plan to increase diversity?
White people are vastly underrepresented among the players.
I'm looking forward for the pilots message after everybody has boarded the airplane:
"As-salamu alaykum, my name is Jafar Fayed and I am delighted to have the honor to have you all on board to fly you en route to (destination here)."
But if we are for real, I have faced some ridiculous things already in which customers have terminated IT services from me and my coworker and the reason was nothing about our skills or abilities or being fit for their project but something entirely irrelevant we will never know. Like origin, hair color, whatever.
I'd be very cautious about those, who run businesses like that.
I would not take the plane tbh. Actually, i will make sure that there are two straight white males as the pilots of the plane.

...
This is the problem.
Hire the person qualified for the job
Stupid woke nonsense, this is discrimination itself.
The same as I do about any company that does this. I hope they go bankrupt.
Should always be the best person. No matter what nationality or gender.
The same as I feel about the recent white House hiring for the same reasons: it's RACIST and OBVIOUSLY the wrong thing to do!!
I've always thought when it comes to hiring it should be the best possible candidate.
If it’s a choice between competence or diversity, diversity must win.
Have no idea. But good for them.
