How do you stay awake when driving long distances?

I used to drink coca cola. It kept me awake because I had to stop every hour to pee. The exercise woke me back up. All the bouncing up and down when i woke up in the median strip woke me up once too.

When I feel tired I usually stop by the side road and rest for few minutes to an hour or take a walk. Last my journey was 20 hours long and it was an emergency so we stayed and slept at a hut for few hours and continued. Taking a brake is better than not reaching the destination

The old long distance driver trick was to sip on camp coffee. Personally I just put the radio on to kill the boredom

Sometimes music but it really works. It’s just like snacking while driving and sometimes I’ll put on some kind of TV show on my phone and listen to it., you have to keep yourself occupied somehow so you don’t get to relax while driving

Coffee helps. But if I really get the nods I take a half tablet of Provigil (prescription) and I'm usually good for another 4-5 hours.

Coffee. I grew up taking road trips with my truck driver dad and I drive for work too, so I’m used to it

I intentionally eat something that will give me indigestion (but, crucially, NOT diarrhea) and the discomfort keeps me from falling asleep. Since I tend to have reflux problems this is easy to do.

for some reason i can't anymore i use to have no problem doing it but now nope i had my first wreck falling asleep behind the wheel so if i get tired i dont drive not worth killing someone or myself

Plan the trip so there is a break every 2 hours. Gas break, lunch break. Gas break, destination.
