Much as I would love to experience the beauty and wonder of seeing it, I never have. And I have even spent time in Alaska without seeing it.
Damn😂
Yeah, you have to time your visit during a solar storm, and they usually occur in the winter months
I was looking last night, but it was too cloudy and I didn’t see anything but maybe tonight I will , but where was those pictures taken?
Northern California.
Even you can't see it with your naked eye, if you have a good camera phone, it'll be able to capture it
I’m in New York and I did try it with my iPhone 13 but it just shows a blue sky at night
Are you in the city or in the countryside? I've seen pictures of one over Seattle, but ideally you want no light polution
Maybe your phone isn't fancy enough, 'cuz my phone captured it perfectly, but my dad's phone only captured black sky
It’s a good camera phone, probably the best they make for the iPhone, I’m in the suburbs so it’s not too bad with light pollution here on Long Island away from the city
you need a clear sky for this and we are covered with clouds... maybe next time :D
You do need a clear sky, that is true
I wanted to see them last night, but it was cloudy here 😪 I've never seen them.
Where you at?
Texas
Oh. I think you're too far south to have seen them with your naked eye, but your phone camera might've captured them

I finally saw just a little bit of it last night here in FL. A very subtle purple tint. But better than nothing I guess lol
Slight purple haze that's all. I saw it as a child in Scotland and it was much better up there.
Nice pics.. yes we saw it last night
Thanks. Where you at?
Oh nice. They suit Colorado
No, I live too far south
