Are you a BAD TOURIST?

Question

A town in Japan was getting inundated with tourists taking pictures if historic Mount Fuji (Fujiyama), so they erected a fence. Some bad tourists then punched holes in the fence so they could take their pictures.

Here's the story...

I try to blend in as much as possible. Although if I was someplace like Japan I'd stick out like a sore thumb.

Fun fact. Japan has Mt Fuji, but the Japanese language doesn't actually have an 'F' sound. If you hear a native say 'Fuji' the 'F' is almost completely silent. You can barely detect a sound there, but it doesn't resemble an 'F' in any way. Same with their currency 'yen'. They don't have a 'y' sound, so the 'Y' in 'yen' is almost completely silent.

No, I really try to behave as an „ambassador“ for my country. The worst misstep we had was in the Caribbeans, when me and two buddies peed in the middle of the night on what we identified as a dilapidated house ruin. Suddenly there were angry people coming out, yelling and shooing us away. Apparently in that part of the town this was still a habitable domicile! 😔🫢😦

That's dumb, the last thing you want to do is get arrested in a foreign country. Some holidaymaker taking pictures is one thing but there's a growing problem with tiktokers and influencers now who tend to be a lot more disrespectful.

Not at all. I never even went to a country to party the night away and act obnoxious or hook up or do drugs. On the other hand i have been mistreated in some countries because i am a tourist. People take advantage of u because u dont know the rules.

I read about this whole fiasco. I think generally speaking it's human nature to be defiant, so they only made the problem WORSE! They would've been better off if they'd just put up with up with it or tried to reach some sort of comprimise.
