I could see certain areas towards the base of mountains resembling a rainforest, we have that type of habitat out in British Columbia, Canada. It's a really cool/interesting habitat with an assemblage of plants that don't typically occur in northern North America.

So, I guess there could be rainforest-like habitat in the montane valleys and side-slopes of France with rivers winding through it. That being said, I doubt it resembles the amazon as that area is uniquely tropical. Undoubtedly , it could very well resemble the type of rainforests we get in BC. If I was to visit France, that is the type of area I would visit, not interested in Paris or the Eiffel Tower, I would go hiking or kayaking up into the rainforest areas.

Did you know that southern Ontario in Canada, actually resembles a lot of the southern states with respect to species. The limestone in the southwestern portion of Ontario is similar to the limestone in the Carolinas and surrounding states. That is why they are called Carolinian Forests/habitats in Southern Ontario. The limestone plains skip-over/resume the Appalachian mountains which are an acidic rock/Precambrian type and has more northerly type forests/ridges/lakes, etc.

Some of the BC cedars are 1000's of years old. Some had roots that you drove under with a car.
