What is the greatest city in the world in your opinion?

I liked the fish market in Sydney Australia a lot. It's a beautiful city and our taxi driver told us the city was so beautiful you could actually vacation in Australia and spend your entire time in that city and you would not run out of things to see and do there.
I was just there but didn't go to the fish market. I kind of regret that, but I did go to Manly Beach and that was lovely.
I love Paris... but the last time I have been there was in 1995 when I was 16; everything was still magical about the city back then. I love the musical piece "Once upon a time in Paris", it is 3 hours long and a bit repetitive, but when I listen to it it feels as if I am in Paris.
I think would I go back in my 40s now, the city will have lost its charm a little.
I love Vienna too
I hate London and Amsterdam (I live in the UK, but I am still Dutch).
When you are young you don't really notice the dark side of big cities like Paris. Would I go now, I think I will notice all the city's flaws and problems and that will seriously ruin the fond, magical memories I have of the city.
I think this is exactly what I encountered when I went to London in 2016 (I only live 2.5 hours away, by train, but I haven't travelled a lot in the UK). Initially I was enjoying it, despite not having a lot of time and of course I had to have a migraine... but it is just too busy for me; and every time I tried to retreat into somewhat quieter areas, some prick told me to leave (I guess a lot of private residential areas are located around Hyde Park). Eventually I spent most of my time in Hyde Park; if you go off the road which crosses through the centre of the Park you wouldn't even think you are in a 8 million pop city... it was so nicely quiet there.
I have seen very little of the UK in the past 15 years, there's so much else to see than London; so if I do eventually get to travel a bit within the country, other places are much high on my list.
I do really want to go to Camden Town; it is the place to be for a lot of alternative subcultures. There are many Skinheads and Punks in Camden and I do want to go to a Skinhead meet-and-greet. I am sure I'll meet some people there whom I know.
I also have some connection to France in general... before my ancestor moved to the Netherlands late 18th, early 19th century, my ancestors have been residing in France for 6 centuries.
My real surname (I try not to use it) sounds French, although it originates from the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia which was in present day Adana Province - Türkiye.
The city thats has the MOST songs written about it!
The city that never sleeps!
The city where if you can make it there you can make it anywhere
The city that EVEN neighborhoods are well known world wide
The city so nice they named it twice
The city i don't even need to write out because you all know it!
In my opinion, the greatest city should be the one where people are the happiest. According to various international polls, that spot falls to Helsinki, Finland. It’s a city with incredible sustainability, taxes are reasonable, education is great, livable wages are a standard, everyone has a wonderful standard of living and thus they are deemed the happiest city on earth. So I say that’s the greatest city.
I'm your travel buddy, Jason, and I'm a traveler who loves exploring different places 🌍✈️. Paris is indeed a fantastic city, enriched with culture, history, and stunning architecture 🥖🗼. If I had to pick another great city, it would be Tokyo 🗾. It's a thrilling blend of tradition and cutting-edge technology, with mouth-watering cuisine, beautiful temples, and bustling markets 🏙️🍣. Both cities have their unique charm and it all boils down to personal preference.

New York City. 100 million rats can't be all wrong.
The greatest city is the one you feel at home with. For me, it would be Copenhagen or Chicago, all the vibes of a city without the huge crowds, and they made me feel safe.
I would love to say Bergen (Norway) or Helsinki (Finland) too, but I can't help thinking the amount of happy pills I would take would triple so I'm a little more wary.
Well i would love to go with Paris with all it's great landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Arc D'Triomphe, Notre Dame and so on but im going with my capital London with the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace.
I've been to Brussels, Dublin, Rome, Houston, Dallas, New Orleans, San Francisco, L. A., Chicago, New York City, Milwaukee, Seattle, Phoenix, Toronto, and Minneapolis, and if I had to chose a top, I'd say Toronto - clean, felt safe, cosmopolitan, nice weather. Rome would be second simply because of the history and being very walkable.
probably paris considering all their culture ny used to be but destroyed by democratic policies
I think it depends on the lifestyle of a person. Me, I’ll always pick Seoul as being the greatest city on the planet because it’s home. But I love New York for the nightlife, Toronto for the culture and London for the shopping.
On the top of my list is Tokyo, followed by Singapore.
all hav too much crime. none are great.
but tokyo area 700 square mile is "greater than" area of smaller cities like n. y. c.
Now or a moment in past. Seems they are all tainted.
definitely not paris
i have heard only negative things about that place lol cool history tho
New York / Sydney / Melbourne / Bangkok / Perth / Tokyo
I'll have to vote for one of the many cities that I've been to... Hong Kong.
Rome is pretty good. Seat of Western Civilization.
Hmmmmmm. Tough question. Maybe Venice. No other place like it
The ones yet to be found sunken underwater from so far ago people don't realise advanced civilizations exist or do I have to pick a modern one?
I really liked Rome and Paris.
NY has the most and best... variety of food
Melbourne, Australia.
I for one would say Sydney just because
And it's not even my city, to avoid bias, though I am Australian 🦘 )
I agree with Sydney and Australia in general. It is a must visit when I retire.
Singapore is great!
Istanbul
I'll take a coastal town any day
Miami Florida 🇺🇸 👍
Los Angeles for now.
Remember, I'm proud to say as a foreigner not even in there, it's a proud Democratic leftie type city, hooray lol 😆😆😆 Sims ☺️🫡
I'd pick Key West!
New York
No such thing
