What are your camping essentials?

Planning on going camping in the summer (southern hemisphere), what things do you recommend as essentials?

Good knife, 4 wheel drive truck, a gun with extra ammo, fishing gear, lots of cigarette lighters so you can start a fire. Water filtering equipment of some kind, binoculars, high lift jack, pick ax, round point shovel, a chain saw. A little electric chain saw works pretty good, they're pretty easy to use and if you've got an inverter in your truck you can recharge them while you drive. They're also quiet and don't advertise your position. They'll cut wood for a shelter or fire wood and clear a fallen tree off the road. Bring all the usual stuff of course clothing, light, fist aid kit etc. It really depends on the individual, these are some of the things I bring if I'm out working in a remote aria for a few days.

Southern hemisphere deep enough so seasons are reversed? That, how close to civilization, altitude, monsoon? If any of those apply it will require some specialty items. How much hiking and is it all carry in? I'd love to hear where you're going.

Bug spray, fire starter, a hatchet or machete, water, food, a knife, cooking tins and utensils, water bottle, tent, sleeping bag etc.

Hmmm been a long ti. e since camping down south. Chain saw and are (firewood) ,( comfortable chair ( so smoke from the campfire can find me, binoculars, i have a gi shower bucket , camp stove, cooking over the fires fine for weenies and smores.
